I'd celebrate the new year with you all, but it's not the same, is it? Not all of us came though at the same time - some of us might have only spent half a year before this new dawn. Not that I celebrate the time. A year's a year, now isn't it? Just another date.

But you know. Thinking on that - it's weird, isn't it? Nobody new has come though for a while. There were those objects, and even some living things? But nobody else like us. Either something big is coming up, or the magic - or whatever - has gotten all it needs.

Either way is a little fucked up, but in different ways. Any of you got thoughts?

U-Um, hi everyone. So it seems like I got someone's car by accident? It's...much smaller than most cars I've seen, but I think they thought it was mine because... [He bites his lip, trying to figure out how to phrase "because I'm small enough to fit in it"] -- W-Well, it doesn't matter why I guess.

Anyway, I'd really like to return it to the original owner, so if you recognize this--

[He turns the camera to where he'd parked the car. Except the spot is notably car-less.]

[The camera frantically moves around until you can see Randy, a full grown and very tall man - doing his best to drive a black convertible that is currently the size of a child's car, down the sidewalk. Fie is on the hood of the car, applying sparkly pony stickers to bedazzle it. Crow's running after them, but less to catch them, and more to film the heist]

H-Hey!! Randy! Fie! Get back here!

[the camera gets dropped onto the grass as Elliot tries to chase after him. Alas, he is not athletic enough to catch up, so it's not long until he slows to a stop and looks helplessly after them]

[She pulls the watch back from her face. Before, one could see her face; pulling back now...one could see she's not entirely human, least from the wings curled around her form. They twitch every so often as she speaks, as if trying to make herself comfortable.]

It's going to be an interesting time while you're with us. While we may come from different worlds and different times-and indeed, states of life-we're now comrades in this place. Hence, I'd like to make a few offers-for a fee of course.

[She holds up a hand. They appear to be clawed, but hey-at least they're the length of normal finger nails!]

I happen to live in a mansion and can offer beds and food. Room and board if you will. If new comers, or those who desire someone to make your food, I will be happy to accommodate you. This can be an exchange of monies, goods, or services.

[Kyo shifts, in getting comfortable a bit more as he glances to the watch before giving a beaming grin. Which one might note in how extremely rare that is to see on him of all people. But well, even Kyo has his certain....perhaps weaknesses isn't exactly right, but he has his certain hobbies and interests he gets excited about. Genuinely.

One of which is martial arts. And from the surroundings, Kyo seems to have finally managed to sort figuring a dojo. He gestures around him, grinning and all but bouncing in excitement.]

Hey guys! I know there's....a lot going on so this might not necessarily be the best timing but. I finally figured setting up a dojo! I know a few of you seemed keen when I talked about the idea before, so. This is it! I finally have a proper space for training! And I can teach some of you the basics in hand to hand if you want to learn. Not sure if some might want a crash course before you guys head off, but. Yeah, just wanted to let everyone know.

[Yes, he is well aware that this timing is...well, kind of odd. But it is how it turned out. It might work out anyway in giving them a bit of time to start training at least, before some of them leave, if they wanted. Regardless, Kyo just wanted to get it out there that he was sorted and now 'open', as it were.]

[The video starts off with a woman sitting on the couch-or rather sprawled over it, holding up the Watch to her face level. Her expression, while it's usually amused and laid back, is a little grim. It seems she's seen the message that the Coven leaders have posted, and she's following through with her own response as to not clog up the feed.]

My name is Sokie, and I happen to be one of the new witches around here. And while I could go on and on, I'm just going to get into the heart of the matter. It's about the diplomatic and not so diplomatic mission.

Some of us should stay behind.

[Briefly, she holds up a hand.]

Hear me out. This isn't because of anything lacking, it's not to make it easier on the Dorries. It's more...we're going to be on their territory, far away from our own base. Whatever way we go in, they're going to have the advantage of the place, even with the resistance in their midst.

It may be possible that we'll somehow have our Watches not work in the city, for some, utterly mysterious reason.

[Her eyes widen, exaggerated, about the "mysterious" thing. Mystery her eye.]

It may not be a terrible idea for those of us to bond, and have one half stay behind. I know this is a crappy choice, and I know that it's terrible to be the one to be left behind. I'm planning on going myself, mostly to play the voice of compromise.

But if we're captured, if we're cut off from all communication, those remaining in the city need to know. We need each other, and I for one want to make sure that if they plan to screw us over, we can screw them right back.

[She brings up a hand in a salute]

Claws click on the outside of the surface, followed by both parties leaning back - then taking a proper step back to ensure both are in view. Miss Nessie looks as chipper as always, evidently still Delighted about this whole watch business, though there's a tightness around her eyes; Mhairi looks tense and decidedly displeased. It's more emotion than she's shown to the group at large, ears back and hackles raised, arms folded with a militant discipline behind her back. "Hello, dearests! We hope today finds you well." Nessie grins a little wider, though it softens after a lengthy pause. "While we'd love for this to be purely for pleasure - believe me, we both would - we've some things to discuss today, we do. After the full moon last month, a missive arrived from Morgie - that is, Morgana Drummond, the head of the Coven over there in Dorchacht - asking about our..." She pauses again, briefer this time, her lips thinning as she continues. "Our 'lost luggage,' as she so kindly put it." At her side, Mhairi's low voice outright growls, "After much back and forth, and discussions amongst Parliament, we've come to a decision that Drummond has... agreed to." Nessie's smile continues to wane, and she leans against Mhairi. "And we're quite glad that she has, considering conflict with Dorchacht is not exactly ideal at the present moment." With a deep breath, the Turnskin pulls back her disdain and focuses on the task at hand. "The Parliament has requested that the Coven send a group of dignitaries to Dorchacht to negotiate, and hopefully deescalate the situation. While we may not be able to immediately bring change, should things be as terrible in the waking world as it was in the dreamscape that you unfortunately faced, our best attempts will be made." She pauses, and displeasure is obvious in the way she lowers her gaze and turns her head to look at Nessie. "... your best attempts. Because we don't know what may happen, or what hand Drummond and the Coven of Dorchacht might turn, I will be remaining here. Those that wish to do the same are welcome to, and I will do my utmost best to assist you and answer any questions you may have." "While my lovely Mhairi does that, I'll be attending the meeting with Morgie - though I'm sure that's not a surprise at all, is it?" Nessie pulls away slightly, stepping forward in frame just a bit to spread her arms. "The dignitary group'll be handling all the real fun stuff - talking, seeing if there isn't anything to be done about this queer little situation that's come up, apologies when necessary, so on... I'd like to ask Morgie myself about how she's running her Coven, thinking on it," she pauses, then lowers her hands and steps back again. "And I know a few of you've been worried about it all, and wanting to help, so if any of you dearies would like to come along and play diplomat - show her things are right as rain and all, that we can all get along just fine even without what laws they seem to have in place - then I won't say no." She pauses again, tilting her head. "Might help, even." "Relations between Aefenglom and Dorchacht are... tense," Mhairi adds, wryly. "Per their insistence and refusal, there's no means of direct transport between the two cities, teleportation included. We've tried to get an alternative up and running, something that has been in the Coven's possession for quite some time. The device is a little too risky for us to consider, however, as it's theoretical in execution. Perhaps a project for the more technologically inclined of the mirrorbound at a later date." "I'd appreciate it, at least. That thing's one of our seven wonders in the Coven, it is." "On the fifth, any who wish to join Ness and a handful of our finest Witches should meet at the port." Mhairi reaches and, finally unfolding her arms, curls her hand at Nessie's elbow. "My best wishes, travelers. Be safe." Nessie returns the gesture, hand settling on Mhairi's; it's a little hard to tell, but she's rubbing the side of it gently. "Take care until next we speak, dearests." [Kyo sighs. He really. Doesn't want to have to do this, but. Well. It's been long enough that he has been stubborn and unsure and worried about this. So he may as well just get it over with? At least start to try. He's tried some alternatives and it helps a little, but it probably isn't nearly as effective as it would be to figure having a Bond to help deal with the moon cycle and all. Even temporarily during the worst of it.

Because unfortunately, as much as Kyo's usual response is to figure things on his own or even just run away. Well. This? He can't. He can't deal with it alone without some help.]

So uh. It's Kyo again. I was figuring it is probably about time....but I should be looking into the whole...you know. The Bond thing. I'm tired enough with the rain as it is to want to deal with that for another month. N-not that I'm saying I necessarily want anything serious or permanent or whatever. Just....to help us through the full moon at least or something. Help each other manage the worst of it, at least.

[He's aware he might not be the most appealing candidate for having a Bond with, but even so. Even something temporary, that would help. Help both of them through it.]

Koromaru is patiently motionless for about five seconds, and then he raises himself up to vigorously shake his body, turning the sign around and askew. Minako laughs off screen, a hand reaching out to pull it off him.]

Okay, fine, I'm relieving you of your duty.

[Camera view change! Minako is now the focus, holding the sign with her free hand and offering a jaunty wiggle of her fingers as a hello.]

Yes, I know it's really dumb, but really dumb rhymes help people remember them better! And this is important. If you saw the Coven infirmary during that shared dream last month, I think you'd agree with me. Nobody should-- nobody needs to go through that.

I know it might not be easy for some people to make a Bond. It has a capital B, after all, it's important and telepathic-y and binding and things here are weird and confusing as they are without adding that to the mix.

But remember, you can un-Bond anytime you want! If you don't like your partner, you can find and Bond with a new one you trust later down the line. Putting it off will only worsen how much you're endangering yourself the longer you wait. And for what? Pride? Solitude? Forgetfulness?

[Her eyes go wide with a beseeching look.]

It's not worth your life. Please take care of yourself first. The rules in this world are different, and it hasn't and won't be easy to adapt to them, but this is about your health. You owe it to yourself to be in a comfortable mental and physical condition. If you don't want to do it for yourself, then do it for the people who are waiting for you back in your own world. Think of the promises you've made and the regrets you'd have if you let everything end here, so far away from home.

[She's quiet for a moment, and then huffs.]

So-- here! If you're a Monster and you're willing to Bond with a Witch, reply to this! If you're a Witch and you're looking for a Monster, you should definitely reply to this! Get it done so you have one less thing to worry about while you're on this world!

[A bright, encouraging smile.]

Is anyone else kind of pissed about the fact that pizza doesn't really seem to be a thing that exists in this city? Not to be overly dramatic or anything, it's just that after that shared nightmare from last week, some greasy takeout would have really hit the spot for stress eating.

I'd consider taking a crack at making my own, but if at any point I ever knew the recipes for the dough and sauce and shit, pretty sure I forgot them whenever I got hit with the amnesia stick.

Since it looks like we have some new arrivals, welcome to freaky mirror land? I'm Kyo.

So, I was debating with figuring a job or whatever here. I mean, it isn't like we can be sure how long we're going to be stuck here, right? So uh....I was thinking, since I kinda grew up since Shishou took me in, hanging around his dojo and grew up with him teaching me and all, um. That maybe I could look into that here? I mean, I don't think there's any dojos here, but. If I figure a suitable place and all, here. To start my own. A couple of people are interested in lessons or whatever, so. It would be better to have a proper space for it. Outdoors are great and all, but not as ideal depending on the weather and grounds.

I...also know that the moon will be coming up again. Not looking forward to dealing with this more. The tail is enough of a pain. I know Bonds are supposed to help or whatever but I'm still....not sure on that. Any other ways people have figured dealing with this?

[Knowing his luck it would just be the Bonds. But Kyo is....well, kind of prickly and tsun and has a temper, much as he has been improving. That and his self-esteem socially isn't the best given he just expects everyone to treat him like an outcast given his status within the Sohma family. since coming here I've been feeling exhausted, like really really really REALLY exhausted. the people in the infirmary couldn't help me figure out why...probably because it's a problem that came from my home world. I really want to help with quests, so I'll probably try and do some of the easier ones. (if anyone needs help with one, just say the word and I'm there!) but for the people who are going on the dangerous ones, who might be gone longer, I had the idea of making lunchboxes for them. so they don't have to worry about they're going to eat when they're so far away from most civilization. would anyone be interested in getting those lunchboxes? or making them with me? I don't know if my new witch powers include potion brewing but I want to look into that too, so we can make adventuring starter kits for everyone who's heading into the Wilde. basically, if you're interested in cooking or eating, tell me what you think of this idea??

[Kyo is used to transforming. He's the Cat of the zodiac and all, so he has two forms back home. The regular housecat and....well, his True Form. The reason he's both more calm over being called a monster and the reason he bristles at it, given that situation back home and all.

That is not to say that he isn't finding this frustrating all the same. Namely in regards to clothing with this being a more gradual transformation rather than just instant where he suddenly usually no longer fits into whatever he had been wearing with the zodiac curse back home.....]

....Dammit! This damned tail! So what, I'm just expected to rip holes into all my pants now? Not being the only one is debatable in this if that's comforting or more irritating in pissing me off.

Does magic exist in your world? What is it like, and how do others view those who use it? If not, is there something similar to it where you are from?

With so many of us coming from different worlds, it would be a good idea for us to pool our knowledge and resources to figure things out. The rules might not be the same here, but having a base to start from is better than nothing at all, wouldn't you agree?
