[Kyo is used to transforming. He's the Cat of the zodiac and all, so he has two forms back home. The regular housecat and....well, his True Form. The reason he's both more calm over being called a monster and the reason he bristles at it, given that situation back home and all.

That is not to say that he isn't finding this frustrating all the same. Namely in regards to clothing with this being a more gradual transformation rather than just instant where he suddenly usually no longer fits into whatever he had been wearing with the zodiac curse back home.....]

....Dammit! This damned tail! So what, I'm just expected to rip holes into all my pants now? Not being the only one is debatable in this if that's comforting or more irritating in pissing me off.

[His life. He's finally free of the curse here and he is still. Turning into a cat anyway. Because of course he is. And then he winces, hissing briefly in pain when he nicks his lower lip with his fangs.]

Seriously though, there's probably some kind of tailor or something around, right? For....for people that are changing like this? Ah, right. And uh, introductions, I guess. Or whatever. I'm Kyo. Kyo Sohma.

[For those that he might not yet have run into or talked to. Introductions were only polite and all, so he should probably. Add his name in there somewhere at least, for this first time. Not that Tohru is around to remind him about that sort of thing but. Well, over time, she is rubbing off on him some, at least.]

I'm Yako Katsuragi. A pleasure to meet you, Sohma-san. [ Better err on the side of polite unless she's otherwise corrected, but she's always been formal with people she isn't so familiar with. Moving on from that, though... ]

I'm not sure about clothing for people who are changing, specifically, but there are several monsters in the city who have tails -- so I'd think a monster tailor is your best chance at finding someone to accommodate it. [ She pauses. ] Of course, erm, another option is to, um, stick to loose robes until you know the extent of the change that might happen?

[ Less chance of wrecking clothing that way, she thinks. ]

Katsuragi, then. [And, well. Sohma is his surname and of course they are used to the Japanese naming order of preferring the surname, using that first until they get to know someone better. Honorifics. He's not sure how many others were from there, that used them, but it is something familiar, he supposes. So, sure. Sohma-san is fine, he supposes.]

A monster tailor then. I'll have to find one. Just ruined my jeans I'd arrived in...

[ In a similar fashion, being addressed as Katsuragi suits her just fine. It always takes a bit of a guess, with some of the names she's heard, what address to use... ]

If you do find one, would you mind sharing it? I think you're probably not the only person in a similar predicament.

I don't know if that is comforting or more inclined to piss me off more than I already am. I mean, about me not being the only one.

[Because, yeah, it is one thing for him to transform, he's used to that. All at once, not gradually like this but also in that this is involving others too. Others that were not even part of the zodiac back home.]

Well, I'd certainly hope for the first one, but I can understand being angry, too.

Yeah, apparently.

[Which isn't new? He's just used to that happening because he is a full cat, not needing to worry about it getting in the way in regards to his clothes like this. So yeah, it's frustrating.]

[But is it a nice tail? (Actually, tail envy is doomed to happen regardless.)]

... It's easy enough to make a hole in the right spot. Open your pants along the seam and you can sow them up again, probably.

I'm not necessarily the best at sewing. It's just frustrating to need to do this with all my clothes now. Even if I know I'm not the only one dealing with this sort of thing.

[It is a nice long orange cat's tail, swishing with Kyo's moods, not that he has video on to show that.]

It's easier that way than the other way around.

Anyway, I think it's good that you have a tail. [Too many people don't have one, it's weird.] They're good for things like balance.

[Not the fact he grew one to begin with? That's the impression Dylas is getting. Oh, no, poor angry kid, he has to figure out pants all over again. Actually, it's kind of hilarious...]

I'm so sorry. That sounds horrible.

[His voice does not sound sympathetic, apologetic, or like anything at all. He's completely deadpan just to be rude.]

Yeah? It's going to be a pain needing to adjust them with this stupid tail now!

[It's not horrible? Just frustrating. But Kyo isn't about to admit that he is used enough to having a tail with being the Cat back home and all, with the Sohma family zodiac curse and all.]

You're pretty simple, aren't you.

[He has absolutely no right to pass that judgment so early in a conversation, but??? If that's the least of his problems, fixing pants, he can't be that troubled of a guy.]

Huh? How's that?

[Dylas, everyone else here has no idea the problems and baggage and guilt this angry redhead goes around with. He just seems simple because of his temper in reaction to everything.]

It's just a hunch.

[He's not going to explain, in other words, but he's calling you basic. What Dylas doesn't know about anyone's backstories will surely only come to make him seem even more insensitive in the future.]

You don't need to rip your clothes to make room for your tail. You need to make a loop for it to feed through. All of my clothes have them.

[Because. He has a tail. And it's nicer than Konoe's, too.]

[Mary doesn't say a word as Kyo finishes his frustrated introduction. He just slides up from behind, peeks around Kyo's side, and reaches out to grab that tail.

[Even when not in cat form, Kyo still reacts like one. That is to say he bristles, his hair and tail standing on end as he immediately tries to get out of reach instinctively. All that was missing was that cat like yowl of disapproval.]

W-what?! Oi, what are you doing?

[Mary immediately lets go, watching the sparks fly with mild curiosity.]

It was twitching. [He explains all too easily.] I wanted to see what would happen if I caught it.

....what the hell did you think was going to happen? Nobo -- no animal likes someone yanking their tail.

[If he had claws, he might well have instinctively taken a swipe or something. Mary really needs to be more careful around him....

But somehow, Kyo doesn't see that happening. He's so curious. And seems to adore cats, for some reason, so. Kyo is more or less resigned to this being the status quo of Mary being all curious about him.]

[Curiosity is one thing, and Mary is beginning to develop it quite nicely. But cluelessness is another thing altogether. The way Mary's red eyes widen and he leans forward in anticipation... He's genuinely surprised by this information.]

Then what's it for if not to grab?

Yeah, that's what I am figuring. It's just frustrating.

[That he needs to deal with this at all. And yup, now it is properly confirmed that irony rules Kyo's life, apparently. In that he cannot seem to escape the Cat identity even here without dealing with the Curse itself.]

I'll survive, I guess. It isn't like I expected I'd be one of them learning magic or whatever anyway.

[He shrugs. They are all stuck here and are all going throw difference changes and adjustments.]

I heard magic helps, though. With the changes part.

I don't have magic though, not if I'm....one of the 'Monsters' here? At least, I didn't think so.

[But then, they were all pretty new to this and the situation. So of course they were all still learning about this place and how it all works. So it would be easy for Kyo to have missed or not yet learned some things. A lot of things....]
