[The video starts off with a woman sitting on the couch-or rather sprawled over it, holding up the Watch to her face level. Her expression, while it's usually amused and laid back, is a little grim. It seems she's seen the message that the Coven leaders have posted, and she's following through with her own response as to not clog up the feed.]

My name is Sokie, and I happen to be one of the new witches around here. And while I could go on and on, I'm just going to get into the heart of the matter. It's about the diplomatic and not so diplomatic mission.

Some of us should stay behind.

[Briefly, she holds up a hand.]

Hear me out. This isn't because of anything lacking, it's not to make it easier on the Dorries. It's more...we're going to be on their territory, far away from our own base. Whatever way we go in, they're going to have the advantage of the place, even with the resistance in their midst.

It may be possible that we'll somehow have our Watches not work in the city, for some, utterly mysterious reason.

[Her eyes widen, exaggerated, about the "mysterious" thing. Mystery her eye.]

It may not be a terrible idea for those of us to bond, and have one half stay behind. I know this is a crappy choice, and I know that it's terrible to be the one to be left behind. I'm planning on going myself, mostly to play the voice of compromise.

But if we're captured, if we're cut off from all communication, those remaining in the city need to know. We need each other, and I for one want to make sure that if they plan to screw us over, we can screw them right back.

[She brings up a hand in a salute]

Or, at least, it'd be person-to-person (as opposed to shouting-to-shouting) if he'd only abandon his station before a vanity mirror. Look. It's not his fault that he's in the middle of applying his kajal liner okay??? Giving pause to watch Sokie's post is one thing, abandoning his current activity is another. A guy can't walk around with only half of their face done up, after all. ]

So are you going to take your own advice, or be the hypocrite? [ About that whole bonding thing. While it doesn't seem like it'd readily be up Sokie's alley, if push were to come to shove (and hasn't it, already?), there's no doubt that she'd plan extensively for a failsafe where Asura... Well, he's always preferred to live on the edge, and that's why— ] Also, tell me about this compromise you plan on making.

[ —it's a difficult word for him, this 'compromise'. He's Summer, after all. War is always first and foremost. ]

[Sokie heaves a sigh, but she's gotten off of the couch to start stretching and moving around. Look, he can put on his makeup all fine and well and also he can try it on her too??? She wants to see how nice it is! And how less expensive it will be!]

I have to. I know I can keep a cool head, and I've been in dangerous situations before-not everyone here can say the same.

[Kyo sighs, running a hand through his mop of orange hair and glancing down, lips pursed before he glances more directly to the watch in answering, responding to her.]

Not sure I don't trust myself to more likely punch their lights out if I saw any of them in person. But....you're probably right. We should be careful. This whole thing is just....kinda too relatable in my case. I don't trust myself if I were to go check this out. Plus I am not exactly the diplomatic type anyway.

But if you're heading out, be careful. And stay in touch if you can. If you do need help with a bond beforehand...well. I'm open in still not having one sorted yet. I'm going to check on what Momiji and Mary are planning with this but. I think it's probably best if I stay.

[See? This is how he is mellowing out, in the process of it. Where earlier, he might have just all but immediately have been racing first in line to go to war and punch as many of them as he could for what they were doing to the monsters there. This is decidedly personal and way too close to home and Kyo admits that.]

Not everyone has the maturity to make that choice. All joking aside Kyo-I gotta say, good for you. And thank you for thinking things over.

[She means it. And she considers, before slowly nodding.]

There's a couple of options that we could do, depending on who and how many go-like your cousin and your friend.

I met Momiji but Mary...I don't think I have. But your cousin seemed pretty freaked out when we were there.

Maturity? I dunno, I guess. Everyone kind of grows up eventually? Mostly.

[That may be debatable at times with his experience with Ayame and Shigure back home but still. Kyo does admit he has made some progress at least. However gradual it has been and even if he has some ways to go still yet.]

Momiji's always been a bit of a cry baby. But yeah, someone has to keep an eye on him.

[Kyo isn't even that much older. Only by a year, but still. Given none of the other Sohma are here to look after Momiji, well. He's kind of trying to take responsibility a bit. As best as he can considering, anyway.]

[ He sounds annoyed, and it sounds like there's a lot more to his reasoning to this, but he's not divulging his sensitivity to the situation with a stranger. He's intentionally trying to seem... aloof. If only to preserve himself. His reasoning is that he doesn't want to get involved. That he's beyond angry about the entire thing, and would rather not start a fight with anyone random today, because he know he couldn't resist. ]

I don't think you'll find bonded pairs who want to separate themselves like that. Especially if freshly bonded.
