[The video starts off with a woman sitting on the couch-or rather sprawled over it, holding up the Watch to her face level. Her expression, while it's usually amused and laid back, is a little grim. It seems she's seen the message that the Coven leaders have posted, and she's following through with her own response as to not clog up the feed.]

My name is Sokie, and I happen to be one of the new witches around here. And while I could go on and on, I'm just going to get into the heart of the matter. It's about the diplomatic and not so diplomatic mission.

Some of us should stay behind.

[Briefly, she holds up a hand.]

Hear me out. This isn't because of anything lacking, it's not to make it easier on the Dorries. It's more...we're going to be on their territory, far away from our own base. Whatever way we go in, they're going to have the advantage of the place, even with the resistance in their midst.

It may be possible that we'll somehow have our Watches not work in the city, for some, utterly mysterious reason.

[Her eyes widen, exaggerated, about the "mysterious" thing. Mystery her eye.]

It may not be a terrible idea for those of us to bond, and have one half stay behind. I know this is a crappy choice, and I know that it's terrible to be the one to be left behind. I'm planning on going myself, mostly to play the voice of compromise.

But if we're captured, if we're cut off from all communication, those remaining in the city need to know. We need each other, and I for one want to make sure that if they plan to screw us over, we can screw them right back.

[She brings up a hand in a salute]

Few inches. [ brief camera tilt down to his legs and feet— dragon leggy, completely digitigrade (although he knows that’s only half of the answer she was looking for). ] I’m getting used to the walk.

[Huh. She leans in, and stops when she remembers that won't give her a better view.]

I bet. Clearly this means I have to come over and visit, check you out all over again. And you won't even have to walk or move around that much while we gossip.

[She clicks her tongue the once.]

Because I am very curious and I'm sure you'd like some of this discussion to be private. Also? I make a great cup of coffee.

Just coffee’s fine. I don’t drink it much to start. [ he’s drank more liquor than he has coffee in his young life, so— a cup is more than enough of a party.

Yeah we're gonna have to be careful then.

[Because he might actually levitate if he has more then one cup. At least she knows to go for the lighter blend!

And while she sets her water for boiling, she waits for him at her door, lifting an arm to hail him down.]

[A beat. And:]

[ the only way i can read that is in joey voice and eren just he’s just this much 👌 more aware of what that’s supposed to entail, but. older eren is a twist. ]

I’m doing. [ look at the joke he made!!!! ] It hasn’t been long, don’t worry.

[ even if he looks it. ]

[Older Eren is a twist and he's very much...has her eye. Still, she could and would act like her normal self, attraction or no. She huffed a small laugh at the joke, and backed up, opening the door for him to pass on through.]

Though it does look like I should express some hair envy. I can't keep it that long and keep it tame.

I wouldn’t recommend what I do for it.

[ re: not actually caring about his looks for ages, and spoiler: he literally does nothing, but there’s magic for bathing. dry baths. roll on hygiene. everything needed to stay clean without actually getting into baths (except, behold, he can actually get into baths now, enchanted tattoos and all).

[She's playful about it, and she beams at him, even as she follows him into the house. It's actually pretty clean? If a little sparse because it's only had a couple of people living in it for the past few weeks-and Sokie tends to bounce around whenever she can.

In any case, she laughs when he throws that back at her. She doubts he'd ever say that flirtatiously-at least not at her.]

Not bad, considering how things are. For sure glad to have you visiting. I haven't really had proper visitors here.

Then again, I'm not very proper.

[She grins, and gestures to various sitting places. There's a couch, a love seat...a mound of pillows and a chair.]

Make yourself comfortable wherever. I need to bring the coffee pot and tray over from the kitchen.

[ it is so serious a how you doing that joey would be appalled. eren takes for the chair, where he can easily drag around to where she’d sit. taking wherever quite literally!! ]

You live with anyone else?

[Joey would be yelling at the abuse of his pickup line! Poor Joey.

Whatever, at least Eren was moving to settle down. Sokie breezed into the kitchen, and came back with her coffee tray, settling it down.]

A fellow named Asura. We met some time ago, and we've worked together. Good guy to have at your back.

[And she's given up on waking up alone. Somehow he'd find her and she'd wake up as the little spoon.]

What about you? You living with anyone?

Mikleo, right now. [ eren is big spoon . . . and almost always wakes up first, bye. ] My first bond.

If it weren’t for him, I’d just wander around. [ he shrugs, with no particular preference to where he sleeps, beyond it either being comfortable in terms of temperature or in good company. ] Or sleep in holes.

[That sounds like a bit of a spoon tease there.]

Lucky him, having you as his bond. Though...sleep in holes? Really?

[Sokie chuckled, shaking her head.]

And I thought I was bad for seeking out roofs, sleeping over, and falling asleep in the library. I'd be wandering around too, if Asura didn't haul me into this place.

I dig them. [ holes are fantastic? this is all literal and sokie will never get used to it. he takes his coffee, and offers a quiet thank you for the invite. he doesn’t actually drink it like a gentleman, but. ]

I didn't think your claws would be good for digging in earth.

[In flesh sure. At least she doesn't quibble about how he handles his coffee. Instead she takes her cup after pouring one, and takes in a deep breath. Coffee...it smells great.]

Not at all. I've been wandering...gosh. I think I was eight or nine when I started? And while I stay here and there...I've been wandering ever since.

[ they may not be the best, but lo and behold— they are. he lifts them up and sort of wiggles the inky black digits. ]

You started young. [ but now that he thought about it . . . ] Same age. Never stayed in one place for long.

[ though that was more his circumstance rather that a want. ]

Mm. Taken away from home when I was young. Or what I knew as home at the time.

[She takes her coffee up. Doesn't sip it though, even as she watches him and his fingers.]

I didn't start because I wanted to though. I was taken. But I guess...I never found home again. I didn't want to, I think.

...did you? Or have you found a place you'd want to call home?

Home was taken from me.

[ two different sides of the same coin. there’s no coffee left in his cup, but there’s a bit on his shirt. he doesn’t seem to mind the head of it in the slightest either— it tickles. ]

But I’m taking it back. [ even though he’ll never live in it again— but those that he’s left behind will. ] It’s a shitty thing to have in common.

It is. But I don't think you'd want to have some of the weirder stuff I've done in common.

[She paused a beat, and glanced at his shirt, before offering him a cloth napkin to wipe himself down with.]

Well, unless you want to become a coffee snob, like me. Or learn meditation.

[ yeah, that’s— that’s helpful around the lips, and dripping chin. thanks, his nod says, before crunching the napkin in his hand. ]

It's centering yourself with your breath.

There's a couple of ways you can do it. I did it to keep my magic under control...and now I just do it because it makes it easier to focus in the morning.
