[The video starts off with a woman sitting on the couch-or rather sprawled over it, holding up the Watch to her face level. Her expression, while it's usually amused and laid back, is a little grim. It seems she's seen the message that the Coven leaders have posted, and she's following through with her own response as to not clog up the feed.]

My name is Sokie, and I happen to be one of the new witches around here. And while I could go on and on, I'm just going to get into the heart of the matter. It's about the diplomatic and not so diplomatic mission.

Some of us should stay behind.

[Briefly, she holds up a hand.]

Hear me out. This isn't because of anything lacking, it's not to make it easier on the Dorries. It's more...we're going to be on their territory, far away from our own base. Whatever way we go in, they're going to have the advantage of the place, even with the resistance in their midst.

It may be possible that we'll somehow have our Watches not work in the city, for some, utterly mysterious reason.

[Her eyes widen, exaggerated, about the "mysterious" thing. Mystery her eye.]

It may not be a terrible idea for those of us to bond, and have one half stay behind. I know this is a crappy choice, and I know that it's terrible to be the one to be left behind. I'm planning on going myself, mostly to play the voice of compromise.

But if we're captured, if we're cut off from all communication, those remaining in the city need to know. We need each other, and I for one want to make sure that if they plan to screw us over, we can screw them right back.

[She brings up a hand in a salute]

Anyway. Sokie, out.

Trust.....hm. I guess. Though I still say I'd be fine. I did last four months out in the mountains back home.

You just want to be a hermit in the mountains for the rest of your life? Never speaking to anyone again, knowing you will attack people every full moon?

Trust me. I have at least briefly considered it. I'm not sure it'd really help any though.

[Aside from the obvious of keeping with his usual habit of fleeing when things got difficult. When he gets overwhelmed. In spite of his prickly nature and temper, for all that bluster he is mellowing a lot since Tohru moved in with them back home and all.]

Unless you're very in peace with your own thoughts...it really doesn't help.

I tried it once. I nearly went bonkers.

But who knows-maybe you can do it and I'm just being a naysayer.

I lasted four months before being dragged back.

[Really he shouldn't have missed that much school anyway. But regardless, he was dealing with something at the time so it was probably understandable that he was upset and overwhelmed. And now, here, Kyo has Mary and Momiji to consider as well.]

Dragged back huh...?

I'd ask why but-that's a story for another time, right?

[They're still getting to know each other. She doesn't actually want to make him mad or poke too hard. He's a good kid, in her books.]

Not much of a story as to why I was dragged back. School and all.

[The real story might be more on why he was out in the mountains alone in the first place. But Kyo isn't about to go spilling that so easily.]

Ahhh. Well, school is important.

Though...that reminds me. I don't think I've seen any schools around here. Have you been taking any classes?

That....er...no. I mean, not like English class or Maths or whatever like you probably mean.

[He took some basic classes on this place, what the whole Monster/Witch thing meant and such? But otherwise, no. Not exactly.]

I was thinking of more of the regular classes, yes.

[And she...clicks her tongue. And eyes him. Hmmm.]

And you've likely have forgotten too...you're how close to high school graduation? And you've taken...how many months worth of classes?

Then no. At least not that I am aware of. And er....I had about a year or so left? Not that it seems to matter, here.

[Which, really. He can't really complain? At least, here he doesn't have homework and such to deal with.]

They seem to have a completely different education system here- when there is education.

You know...still wouldn't be a bad idea to get you into lessons of some sort.And not just you.

I bet you don't know things like...I dunno. Emergency first aid.

I know some bare basic first aid from having learned martial arts and all, but not emergency stuff like having taken a proper course or anything.

[Well. It was something one hoped they wouldn't need, but. Useful in the event that something did happen at least.]

[She's quiet for a few moments, before she ends up clicking her tongue again. Hmmm.]

That might be subject for another network discussion. But not today. It deserves some thought and consideration.

I have no idea if any of us are trained for that sort of thing to be able to teach it. But yeah. It's something to think about.

[Maybe after this mission and all, at least.]

You'd be surprised what I've trained in over the years.

[She waved a hand, smiling.]

Let's talk about it once this is said and done? Maybe we can have sandwiches. You like sandwiches?

Yeah. After the mission sounds good. I'm more used to Japanese snacks like onigiri but sure. I like sandwiches too.

[Food is food. The only time Kyo is really picky with it is regarding leeks.]

I'll make you some. If we had rice, sure, I'd try to make local ongiri but let's talk over sandwiches when I get back.

[No leek sandwiches.]

Sandwiches are fine. Just let me know when you're up for it once you're back.

[When and where to meet. He'll be there.]

Can do. It might be awhile, but we'll do it.

In the meantime-be sure to take care of yourself, all right?

You're still growing and all that.

Take -- yeah. Sure. I'll be fine.

[She isn't wrong though. Even if he was older compared to some of the other Sohma, he was still a minor and all. And he was still growing. Emotionally and physically.]

Good.

Don't stay up all night. And make sure to drink water and eat regularly.

[She's only semi teasing this time.]

Sure. I can manage that much.

[Sokie plz. He is not three.]

[He might not be three, but he might forget!]

Yes, boss.

[....at least he didn't say 'Mum'? Given his own relationships with his biological mother was...complicated at best.]
