Video

Name: Sokie Undertown
Date: Septeril 1st
Format: Video

[The video starts off with a woman sitting on the couch-or rather sprawled over it, holding up the Watch to her face level. Her expression, while it's usually amused and laid back, is a little grim. It seems she's seen the message that the Coven leaders have posted, and she's following through with her own response as to not clog up the feed.]

My name is Sokie, and I happen to be one of the new witches around here. And while I could go on and on, I'm just going to get into the heart of the matter. It's about the diplomatic and not so diplomatic mission.

Some of us should stay behind.

[Briefly, she holds up a hand.]

Hear me out. This isn't because of anything lacking, it's not to make it easier on the Dorries. It's more...we're going to be on their territory, far away from our own base. Whatever way we go in, they're going to have the advantage of the place, even with the resistance in their midst.

It may be possible that we'll somehow have our Watches not work in the city, for some, utterly mysterious reason.

[Her eyes widen, exaggerated, about the "mysterious" thing. Mystery her eye.]

It may not be a terrible idea for those of us to bond, and have one half stay behind. I know this is a crappy choice, and I know that it's terrible to be the one to be left behind. I'm planning on going myself, mostly to play the voice of compromise.

But if we're captured, if we're cut off from all communication, those remaining in the city need to know. We need each other, and I for one want to make sure that if they plan to screw us over, we can screw them right back.

[She brings up a hand in a salute]

Anyway. Sokie, out.

They are. If anything, I've read witches bonded with other withes are far from grounded unless both are using sufficient amounts of magic, which is why I'd suggest considering it the last resort.

[ Curious as he is about the range, some pairs are simply better than others, even if the entire concept is strange altogether... In any case, he doesn't quite laugh himself, but he does sound slightly less grim as he adds, ]

All last month or all this month? Because, if I may point out, this month has only been a single day.

That wasn't a yes or no question.

[ Just saying. ]

Though I do imagine theory is far less explosive.

Hmm. [ That's one very noncommital sound in regards to whether or not Sokie is delightfully sassy. Moving on— ] If not explosions, then what kind of magic, if I may ask?

[ And that's just honest curiosity. It sounds like she's another who had magic prior to this world. ]

[ Polite until given a reason to be rude, anyway. ]

Then you must know quite a bit about magic. Did your own world ever have an England?

[ He's already gotten over the fact that, apparently, there are a lot of worlds that do not have one, but that won't stop him from curiously asking. ]

My own England had only just had magic returned to it in full. While I am well aware the Englands we speak of are likely different ones, I can't help but wonder about how magic has turned out in others.

The latter, at least, sounds true to what I know of my own. Thank you for indulging my curiosity... and good luck with finding someone to help you with this. My offer stands, though I do still agree a monster would be best.
