happy pocky day!

i wonder if anyone in this place has seen any pocky that i could find? not that i have anyone to kiss while eating pocky with them, but it's a tasty snack so if anyone finds some or something like it...send me that way!

anyways, what's your favorite type of candy? answer me, folks!

And - to answer. I don't really enjoy candy, though I do like cakes and sweets like that.

and oh i also love ally like french pastries tbh; commercy's madeleines are my favorite!

I mean... If you follow a receipt perfectly, probably not too hard. I haven't baked personally.

I love madeleines and fruit tarts. And so far I haven't found a cake I didn't enjoy.

oh, someone else that likes them! perhaps instead of pocky we should try baking some madeleines huh?

cakes are pretty good, i won't lie. there's probably few things better than a good tiramisu, no?

I wonder if they'd be easier or harder.

Tiramisu is great. I love Castella, personally, but I haven't had it since I was at home.

probably harder. but wouldn't it make it all that more worth the effort?

castellas are amazing, too--i've had some when i visited portugal. they were so soft, almost like a cloud. ahaha, i could probably go on about this all day, tbh!

Definitely worth the effort, I think it'd be pretty impressive.

There was this cafe not far from the hospital at home, and they had amazing Castella and jellies. Also some fun flavored frozen yogurts.

I hadn't thought about it for awhile, to be honest.

there was a bakery near my college that most of my classmates (and professor) liked to go, now that i think about it. english pastries are really different from french ones but tea cakes are always really tasty

with tea, of course!

It was great. I can't say that I know the differences exactly, my world is a bit different.

they sure do! it’s because some people thought they’d become tall if they ate a stick candy on a stick day! get it? bc 1 looks like a stick—and it’s 11/11!!

man now i really wish i had some pocky; i would have totally shared with you! what kind of candy did you have in the underground? why were you underground in the first place?!

we had a lot of the regular stuff like chocolate and hard candies, but nothing super fancy!

oh you know sometimes i forget not everybody had an underground! its kind of a long story byt the tl;dr is that there was a big war between humans and monsters in my world and the monsters lost so we got locked in the underground for all eternity

but its cool now we got out!^.^

but we do have an underground? it's just that it's pretty much unexplored. but we did go some years ago--it has the carcass of a giant dragon that died trying to get to the land of the fairies!

nnnooot really. honestly, they say that you shouldn't go to the land of fairies, because you'll never return. the fairies trap you there, you know?

Not sure if I've seen any around. I'm not saying I'd make it, but it's probably possible to make something like it here? I more miss the dishes back home than the snacks.

I mean, I guess if I had to pick a candy, it isn't the worst out there though.

Japanese dishes, I mean. That's where I'm from, back home. But I'm pretty sure pocky is available in other countries too. And like, sushi I guess, at least.

there's lots of places with dishes like that where i'm from. sure, there's sushi, but ther'es also things like ramen or katsudon, even onigiri!

but maybe you could find the ingredients here and make something similar? who knows!

I mean, some ingredients might be kind of similar but some are more unique to Japan, or at least, the way it could be prepared, the combination of flavors or the sauces. I could try though. I've just been busier with the dojo to think as much on food.

I mean, I'm okay with cooking with some basics or whatever. But it isn't something I thought about doing seriously here or anything. It'd be nice though. To make some dishes from home. I've tried making some, or as close as I could get, for dinners.

what else is a dojo for? yeah, Shishou taught me martial arts back home. I really enjoyed it so I figured, there wasn't one here so I could try help teach people here.

that sounds so cool! i'd love to visit sometime to watch you practice!! i've actually never seen people do martial arts outside of the movies.

ah, but i guess i've seen my classmates wrestle in self-defense class. that kind of counts!

you can come check it out, sure. don't see why not. if you're that curious, you can try a beginner class or something yourself.

but i guess that kinda counts? martial arts is a little different to wrestling though. and self defense itself is more about disabling your opponent at least long enough for you to make a run for it, really.
