Does magic exist in your world? What is it like, and how do others view those who use it? If not, is there something similar to it where you are from?
With so many of us coming from different worlds, it would be a good idea for us to pool our knowledge and resources to figure things out. The rules might not be the same here, but having a base to start from is better than nothing at all, wouldn't you agree?

most are fairly suspicious of those who use it since not many people do. some have been put to death for being thought of as witches in my world.
i agree that it is a good idea to pool everything we know together. im eager to practice and see what i can learn!

I see. So practicing magic is dangerous in your world, then. I imagine it will take some time to get used to things here.
Likewise. We have a wealth of knowledge at our finger tips, and I can't wait to see what all of us are capable of. What is something you would like to learn more about?

Essentially, my world is filled with mana that can be used in magical spells. Back home I was able to do things like conjure a temporary shield in battle, for example.
text
That does sound useful. How long did it take for you to work out how to conjure something like that, if you don't mind my asking?

Make no mistake, I still never saw anything like what the Coven here can do. I'm still not too sure if using magic to do the sweeping is a good idea or just exceedingly lazy.

there's a guy who does all kinds of parlor tricks, but it's not magic-magic!! he says so himself. ♪
he's also really creepy and can make his ears bigger, his hair move, and all other kind of things.

I've heard it said that magic itself is neither good nor evil. That distinction is determined by how it is used. What do you think?

At least as far as I know, magic isn't really something we have. Unless you count Tohru's friend and her 'waves' or whatever.....

But mostly it works by will and concentration.
That makes a lot of sense to me. Another person put up a post and we were talking similarly, not about magic, per se, but about comparing notes.

2. That's a loaded question...
3. Apparently there are rules, but I'm not the right person to ask.
As an FYI, the ability to travel between ... versions of Earth etc. wasn't actually limited to just magic where I'm from. Science, when applied in the right way, could also do the same thing. Until we know for sure, we can't put all of our eggs in one basket and say this is JUST a magical thing.

Those who use it these days keeps it a secret from the world at large. Not touching the rules part, because you know, if I learned anything is that the rules in magic exist only to be broken.
So how about yours?

Studies in magecraft go as far back as Creation.
Basically, it's an extensive field that explains all the phenomena in the universe — but it's only really studied and developed by a select portion of pompous egoists called mages! [ a laugh from the other end. amadeus you're a caster too ]

I see. But I wonder who would have taught the first mage in your world how to use magic. Or is it something that all mages inherently know how to use in some capacity?
