Does magic exist in your world? What is it like, and how do others view those who use it? If not, is there something similar to it where you are from?

With so many of us coming from different worlds, it would be a good idea for us to pool our knowledge and resources to figure things out. The rules might not be the same here, but having a base to start from is better than nothing at all, wouldn't you agree?

Easy to understand without question. No one questions it, because that is what they have been taught. But that particular point of view isn't something that would be useful here.

This post isn’t to pool knowledge for everyone, it’s for you. I’m not going to open myself up to someone who’s two-faced from the start. The reason doesn’t matter.

I suppose you're right. I do have answers. Enough to give me a good jumping off point, at least, and to try to help others. I understand not wanting to give more information than what you think is necessary to others without offering something in return. I suppose we will have to leave things just as questions here.

Magic is seen as an affliction where I am from, and mages an evil that must be dealt with swiftly and indiscriminately. It's a truth that no one questions, but understands implicitly and protects them from anything that might do them harm.

[ She appears to be typing for a while here. The first response she comes up with is just as circuitous as her previous answers. But that gets deleted and replaced with this. ]

There’s magic everywhere, here. The Coven’s full of witches and we lost our powers. Is that still fear talking or are you looking for someone?

It isn't so simple. I have to assume I was not the only person from our nation brought here. The Coven will find a way to return us home eventually, and I know what will happen once we do if someone learns what I am.

You never said anywhere you were a magic user. If it were like that it’d be just as easy to accuse them. Don’t you think?

But showing that I have knowledge about how to use it is still damning enough. Even a basic understanding of how magic might work at this point could be used against me. There are those who know what I am back home who would not hesitate to put forth additional evidence and accusations in order to save face.

I have to assume that someone is watching. That is the society that I live in.

There’re other ways to figure out what you’re looking for.
You looked deceptive to me, like if you were on the other end of the spectrum. Be careful with that if you want allies.

Fair point, I will be more careful next time. Truth be told, I didn't expect anyone to ask questions. People usually prefer to talk about themselves and what they know.

Speaking of which, I apologize if you feel this is in bad taste, but if you are willing I would like to hear about where you're from. I take it that magic isn't something that you have experience with.

That makes two of us. My experience with mageseekers and the like back home hardly add anything useful to our situation here. I am, however, interested in other worlds.

How is this? I will answer any of your questions here, if you allow me to ask about where you are from as well. You can tell me if a topic is off-limits, and I will do the same. How does that sound?

You mentioned that dragons don't exist in your world. Are there similar creatures where you are from?

Lizards? They’re small, though. They don’t have wings or breathe fire, either.
Sheep, cattle, fish, birds. There’s nothing out of the ordinary about them.
