Does magic exist in your world? What is it like, and how do others view those who use it? If not, is there something similar to it where you are from?

With so many of us coming from different worlds, it would be a good idea for us to pool our knowledge and resources to figure things out. The rules might not be the same here, but having a base to start from is better than nothing at all, wouldn't you agree?

[ here's the guy with a preference.

letter writing was a comfortable practice from his time, but if technological advancements now allow him to hear the person he's meeting, he'll happily go with that. ]

Studies in magecraft go as far back as Creation.

Basically, it's an extensive field that explains all the phenomena in the universe — but it's only really studied and developed by a select portion of pompous egoists called mages! [ a laugh from the other end. amadeus you're a caster too ]

[ a shame! but he persists — it should be a joy to hear his sweet tenor, okay. ] That would be the gods, I suppose. Or perhaps the World itself.

I'm not really an expert in the history, but let's see if I can't sum it up?

Earth was once dense with pure magical energy when gods and man coexisted. As mankind gained more independence, we lost the connection with magic in favor of modern technology, so magecraft these days is actually a weak rendition of what it once was.

[ he hums, and there's the sound of some thoughtful tapping. ] Thus leaving the whole of it in a decline. Honestly, it's a violently competitive field.
