Hey guys, and ladies, of aefenglom.  I can’t help but notice that the full moon is coming. I know that some of the stuff that happens is tied into the lunar cycle ...

I guess I was just hoping to hear from someone else that got here and felt like you were having a hard time adjusting. Did you find anything that was helpful?

I blew off a lot of steam last full moon, running around in those hedge mazes... but they took them down. I think they should have those every month.

[Of course, that wasn't quite enough. He still saw a friend panicking about transforming, and a bit of a panic himself. But it was better than the agitated energy before running around for hours.]

[ Yeah, watching a friend go though the transformations is something he can also empathize with — knowing there wasn’t all that much he could do about it made it worse. ]

Yeah, I’m feeling like hedge maze is better than ice skating by a lot. I don’t really like being cold.

It is harder to race on ice... But, uh, can't you wear extra clothes for the cold?

[Not having skin, he barely even notices the chill. It's a little nostalgic, but nothing physically uncomfortable.]

A little more than two months. Wow, time sure flies.

[ It’s pretty easy to picture a dumbfounded look from the person on the other end of the voice chat. ]

For some reason I thought people had been arriving for a lot longer.

[ Perhaps he should be a little more invested. Or a lot more invested, since he’s made zero headway on trying to get home. ]

[ Han has no idea if he should be taking 2 months as being like a lifetime seriously or not. ]

Being in one place does make it feel like a lot longer.

[Papyrus is being somewhat serious - but only subjectively, in the way that uncertainty and worrying can drag the days out. More literally, two months is nothing.]

Uh, yeah, I guess so. At least it's a large city! And we can leave the city, to go exploring... If we don't mind risking the Cwyld.

Yeah, if you get corrupted, you can turn into a shade... So I don't recommend it.

I'm just taking a minute to appreciate that I can. Even though it's dangerous! It's nice to have the option.

Yeah, but it makes you wonder if there’s something worth going through all the trouble out there.

There's loads of lost history, and caves... But mostly, the worthiest something is keeping it from spreading here.

[He's been making trips to the slums outside the wall, where a large portion of the population is somewhat infected, after all. If it's already up to the walls...]

I hope they’re willing to pay for something like that.

[ Because he can’t figure there are all that people going shade hunting for charity’s sake. ]

I think they do... I got a pair of boots out of my trip out!

[The Wilders do seem to be actively recruiting, and as far as he knows it's a paying job. It's a shame they were so wrong about the cave's safety, because that burned a few people - Papyrus included - on the idea of heading out there very much.

It'd be different if he had magic, at least then he could show off.]

[ Someone like Han is a bit more driven when there’s money involved, but hey, a good pair of boots is a good pair of boots. ]

You can’t undervalue a pair of trusty boots, I suppose.

Just think of the savings! I won't need to buy my own.

And they feel pretty sturdy, ready to hold up to all sorts of weather - snow... rain...?

[Truth be told, it's only his second month of experiencing weather, so he's not fully familiar with all the terminology.]
