Hey guys, and ladies, of aefenglom.  I can’t help but notice that the full moon is coming. I know that some of the stuff that happens is tied into the lunar cycle ...

I guess I was just hoping to hear from someone else that got here and felt like you were having a hard time adjusting. Did you find anything that was helpful?

I blew off a lot of steam last full moon, running around in those hedge mazes... but they took them down. I think they should have those every month.

[Of course, that wasn't quite enough. He still saw a friend panicking about transforming, and a bit of a panic himself. But it was better than the agitated energy before running around for hours.]

[ Yeah, watching a friend go though the transformations is something he can also empathize with — knowing there wasn’t all that much he could do about it made it worse. ]

Yeah, I’m feeling like hedge maze is better than ice skating by a lot. I don’t really like being cold.

It is harder to race on ice... But, uh, can't you wear extra clothes for the cold?

[Not having skin, he barely even notices the chill. It's a little nostalgic, but nothing physically uncomfortable.]

[ It’s tempting to ask her for help, as awkward as it would be to request it and he trusts her more than he would meeting a stranger here ... but. No. He didn’t want to seem desperate and the truth is, he hadn’t been trying that hard to get by so far. ]

It's not the full moon, yet. So I'm well enough. Working on a project down at the docks.

I think those without magic or are used to the transformations are having a harder time than others. This place is not far different from my home, and I am lucky for that, but the changing of the moon and its affects is something I am still struggling with.

[And not being bonded is taking a toll.]

You are not bonded either then. [She says because she can relate. It is getting harder and harder to concentrate unless she uses her magic everyday.]

Have you been practicing at all? It is not the same, but it helps with the sleeplessness I find.

No. I guess I’ve been a little distracted.

You need to burn off the magic that is bubbling over in you. When you are bonded, it naturally goes to the monster you are with. But if you are not-- it seems it can lead to devastating consequences.

I know a few defensive spells that dispell a lot of magic. If you wish to learn them. It-- It helps.

Coven has potions that help, for both witches and monsters alike. They also have potions for temporary bonding. Both options don't come cheap.

If you're a witch you have to practice spells daily to avoid build-up of magical energy. It's a must if you don't want to explode taking at least a whole building out. Note that it takes a month or two for the first symptoms to show. Temporary bonds help a lot.

I remember hearing about people explode, but I didn’t think they meant literally.

I doubt anything here is supposed to help. If you think about it the whole thing is most likely going to be terrible; I mean they've inflicted this, why would they make it easy?

I think it is entirely possible that things add up just a little too neatly here. When I arrived it seemed as if there were some in charge who were already expecting us.

[ He had initially taken the resources and people available to help as some sort of refugee program, but in his experience ... most places didn’t welcome outsiders to the extent this place had. If they welcomed them at all. ]

For the most part things do seem as they are, but there are those who throw an odd glance now and again in our direction. It does make one wonder...

[ That and the idea of having no powers chafes so much, Ardyn has no issues shit talking those in charge on a public forum.]
