A friend of mine has apparently lost the use of his legs due to his transformation. His legs have been gong through very painful spams for a while but now they seem to be mostly stuck together, and covered with scales.

I worry about him, so I was wondering if someone had gone through something similar and what solutions they may have found for it.

[Spoilers: it's him, he's the 'friend' who's turning into a Naga. His legs are doing the shift from les to. Well. Serpent Tail, and he's not pleased with it.]

[He actually takes a few moments to answer back as he considers the idea. It's not ideal, but it's not like he can expect people to just heal him and give him his legs back.]

That would be an option until he gets his legs back, I suppose. But depending on how long it takes it could get extremely boring to just lay in bed.

That's good advice. But he would still need someone to push him around, wouldn’t he? Not exactly ideal.

Hopefully it would just be temporary, though. If he has to end up being turned into one of the Nagas I have seen around the district then his tail should be enough to get him around.

most wheelchairs are self-propelled you know! he could push himself around

Are they, now? Then that's an option to consider, for sure. I'll admit I haven't looked that much into them. My friend is quite proud, you see, and using a wheelchair would feel like showing weakness.

because he can't walk?? how is that weak? it's just going "hey i need help to do a thing because my body is bullshit"

Some people have a hard time asking for help. It's not his fault that this is the creature this world decided to turn him into, but it's still extremely frustrating for him to not be able to walk around without help.

It still feels pretty damn weak, to him. Everyone's going through changes, he should be able to put up with it as well.

Aren't you going through something like that as well?

And how do the changes you're going through make you feel? Are you okay with them?

they're happening and we can't make them stop so does it matter?

Of course it matters, we can't just pretend it isn't happening. These are our bodies, still are, it's hard to just accept any changes as they come with a shrug and a smile. At least it's hard to do that, for me.

didn't say i was, but the changes aren't gonna stop just because they freak me out. might as well be positive about it.

I wish I could share that attitude. It would certainly make the changes less frustrating.

But all I can think of with every change, all my friend can think of with every painful spasm is that he didn't ask for this in any way.

Or it makes you work harder to try to better your situation, or simply make sure you don't find yourself in that situation again.

I see where you're coming from, young man but I don't think 'contentment' is going to help the situation any either.

that really only works if it's something you can change

we can't change this and fighting it doesn't go well

We don't know for sure, only what we've been told. And even if it is true so far, that doesn't mean we can just give up and take it.

At least I know for sure I'm not going to.
