A friend of mine has apparently lost the use of his legs due to his transformation. His legs have been gong through very painful spams for a while but now they seem to be mostly stuck together, and covered with scales.

I worry about him, so I was wondering if someone had gone through something similar and what solutions they may have found for it.

[Spoilers: it's him, he's the 'friend' who's turning into a Naga. His legs are doing the shift from les to. Well. Serpent Tail, and he's not pleased with it.]

Apparently so. Hopefully the tail will become of use eventually but right now he's practically bedridden.

I'm fine. [So fine that he made a post asking for help, but still. It's not like he can actually move from his house, as it is, so.]

It's not even all that painful anymore, or so he claims. Only every now and then, when he gets a spasm, and it passes quickly.

Right now it's more that his legs seem so permanently stuck together that they are basically unusable.

Having you fuss over me is not going to make my legs start working, Aera. And we both know your mind is elsewhere right now.

[He'd never have thought he'd miss Ardyn, and yet.]

[He actually takes a few moments to answer back as he considers the idea. It's not ideal, but it's not like he can expect people to just heal him and give him his legs back.]

That would be an option until he gets his legs back, I suppose. But depending on how long it takes it could get extremely boring to just lay in bed.

And are quite discreet.

Have you asked the Coven if they have, uh, magical pain relief? In this place, I'm sure there's a potion...

Maybe I can look one up.

He can handle the pain, it usually only lasts a few seconds as he goes through leg spasms. It's not being able to move that's getting to himl

Someone suggested a wheelchair, I suppose that's the sensible option if he can find someone to push him around.

I've been a little reluctant to try local medicine other than the painkillers, but I suppose it can't hurt. I can't be the first or only one going through this.

That's good advice. But he would still need someone to push him around, wouldn’t he? Not exactly ideal.

Hopefully it would just be temporary, though. If he has to end up being turned into one of the Nagas I have seen around the district then his tail should be enough to get him around.

[He does send a text or two more, but eventually it's pretty clear Aera isn't going to answer any longer. And so he sits and waits for the the inevitable, because it's not like he can go somewhere else until the storm has passed.]

Here. [He calls out for her from his bedroom, because it would be pretty silly to pretend he's not home. If he had had a little bit more hindsight he'd have made the post from someplace else, but alas.]

There's also the hospital, of course, but it might be harder to keep things quiet.

Are they, now? Then that's an option to consider, for sure. I'll admit I haven't looked that much into them. My friend is quite proud, you see, and using a wheelchair would feel like showing weakness.

Keeping things quiet is looking less and less likely, I'll be honest.

[Ardyn isn't here to mock him about being a monster anymore, and yet. And yet he's reluctant to just go with it, to just admit what he's becoming.]

Would either of those options have wheelchairs available?

She's glad when he does call out, though; this is the first time she's been to his house, at least without Caren, but she follows his voice into his bedroom, frowning. ]

The affliction I've dealt with admittedly doesn't involve quite the same level of physical change.

( give or take. it really depends on your views of vampires. )

The hospital is most likely to have medical equipmeent to hand at a reasonable cost.
Perhaps one of their medics could be persuaded to visit your home?
