[Typing is terrible for someone not used to it (and someone not even that great at writing, at that): one attempt has been enough to convince Konoe never to try again if he can help it.
Video, however... is honestly creepy!? How do people get so small, and how can they be sure they'll get out of the watch again? He may be a cat, but he's not stupid!
So he tries for voice, even though he's not used to voice calls, either. He gets really close to the watch and pronounces everything a little slowly, overly clearly.]

Before - you - came - here, - were - there - demons - with - you?

[There, he did it. There's an audible sigh, of determination as much as relief, and then the feed ends.

Look, he's just trying to get some answers, here. There must be some pattern to who was pulled here through the mirrors and why!]

I see, I think. I suppose they wouldn't want to spread that news around…

That way… they're no different from anyone else who's lived. Then it's well enough, I suppose. [that is what he's worried about- but really, there doesn't seem to have been any evidence of that, right? So it's probably fine.]

It still makes you wonder why they were chosen.

[With the need to magically fix them up again, and presumably plenty of other people around, it doesn't seem very economical. But then -... He sighs.]

I guess the same goes for everyone, though.

[Maybe it really is just random, who ended up coming through a mirror.]

It's certainly something I'd like to know. I can't say I like the wondering.

[Too many questions, and no answers to be found anywhere. Perhaps someone should tell Konoe about that saying involving a cat and curiosity, but it would likely only make him snoop more.

I don't know where we're supposed to find answers, though. If even the Coven doesn't know...

Then presumably the answers are outside of what the Coven knows at this time. We'd have to search them out.

If even they can't find out, I don't know how outsiders like us can.

[He feels like he's going around in circles on that particular topic since he first started thinking about it, though.]

There's not much to do but wait and see, probably.

It's hard. But- I'm not much inclined to wait. Perhaps if we stuck our noses in the wrong- or right- places?

Places they don't want us nosing around, perhaps. Places of power, of places no one's been for some time.

And how are we supposed to find out where they don't want us nosing around - just walk in wherever we want and see if we get thrown out?

[Not that he has a better plan, but, you know...]

That's one way of working it out! Otherwise, I'd recommend listening about- see where people end up steered away from, or where people tell you it's locked off.

[Not that he disagrees as such, but... he's not sure he wants to incite the wrath of a whole bunch of magically inclined people, either!]

Only a little. It strikes me as the most likely way to start digging anything up.

[Konoe sighs. It's pretty solid in theory, but it still feels like asking for serious problems.]

At least be careful. You don't even know if there's anything worth digging up in the first place.

We've been brought here, for one reason or another. There must be something going on to have that happen.

That's true, but we don't even know if whoever - or whatever - brought us here is in this city.

Even if those mirrors were like doors, they've clearly been locked for a long time before this.

Why bring us somewhere they were distant from, though?

Mm. They weren't expecting us at all, were they? Which means- what? Someone with a long memory? Someone digging into the past?

[It's a good question; they all are. Konoe couldn't begin to guess as to the answers - but that doesn't mean he's not going to try, for some of them.]

The most important thing is finding out how those mirrors came to be, probably. Even if whoever put them there had nothing to do with bringing us here... whoever brought us here must have been someone who knew about them and about what they can do.

I can't disagree. The way one seems marked with things we recognise- they're undoubtedly some sort of key. So… presumably there must be information on them.

I wonder... if the things we recognize on the mirrors were always there, or if they only appeared when we arrived.

[It's a pointless question, really, since no one will be able to find an answer: it's only the person who came through the mirror who can see the decorations on it, after all. Even so, Konoe can't help but wonder if the decorations appeared together with the person who arrived through the mirror, or if they were always there, destined and waiting for the one person who can see them.]

Either would make sense- it gives the mirror a distinct connection. [He frowns, humming.]. Perhaps that's somewhere to start, then.

[It's definitely somewhere to start. But Konoe, for one, is still not entirely sure where to start with that.

Oh well, it's not like they're on a time limit. Probably.]

If even the Coven doesn't know, I'm not sure how we're supposed to find out.

I imagine there may be some sort of trace- it can't be an easy magic…

But perhaps we ought to start with what they do know. About magic- I suppose, specifically, spells to transport people.

[That actually makes sense, but it's not something Konoe ever thought about before. Still, if it's that simple, why doesn't the Coven -...?

He keeps going back to that. The Coven is both an amazing benefactor, and the only suspect he has. It's not fair to suspect them only because he doesn't have any other options and he knows it, but he can't help being leery.]

Right...

[It's good to have somewhere to start, and yet... he feels daunted to start so massive and impossible a task in spite of his best intentions to Never Give Up™.]

[He'll be doing his own research, in his own way, but he's still 99% sure that Thancred will get himself in trouble, and that's something better done with back-up, if it has to be done at all.]
