[Typing is terrible for someone not used to it (and someone not even that great at writing, at that): one attempt has been enough to convince Konoe never to try again if he can help it.
Video, however... is honestly creepy!? How do people get so small, and how can they be sure they'll get out of the watch again? He may be a cat, but he's not stupid!
So he tries for voice, even though he's not used to voice calls, either. He gets really close to the watch and pronounces everything a little slowly, overly clearly.]

[There, he did it. There's an audible sigh, of determination as much as relief, and then the feed ends.

[Well, she is certainly heard. But Konoe appreciates her trying: you never know how these watches would work, if they didn't try their best to speak clearly!]

Oh, I should think not. That sounds distinctly un-heroic.

[ Look, she's a heroine of her own story. She can't die. Be mortally wounded and be brought back from the brink? Of course! But dying? Heavens, no, that's for supporting characters. ]

Everybody dies at some point. Heroism has nothing to do with it.

[Which is true, but he's mostly annoyed that his little theories proved worthless. Which he could honestly have expected, but still...]

Of course I'm immortal. I'm not a human.

Well, yes. Or something. I'm a knight errant - I travel around and help people with problems they can't solve by themselves! Often with a great deal of daring and swordplay.

And no, it's nothing like a bounty hunter. A bounty hunter is drive by greed, a lust for coin. I have no need of such things!

Most people need money to live, unless they can hunt enough. [And their standards are low, like Konoe's.] Even then, bounty hunters probably need lots of strong weapons...

Although I think he's also going to be around a long time, so who knows...? Anyway, yes, some people are immortal. And some are doomed to live short lives and die, through no fault of their own. Poor dears.

Nox is another cat I knew in my travels. Lovely fellow. Also a wizard.

[ Iramaat is who she is and will condescend toward just about everyone she meets, if she thinks it'll work. ]

Well, they want money for things here, so I suppose I'm going to have to start using it.

I'm used to working, but I don't usually do it for money. Still, if they want to pay me for being heroic and saving people, I'm not about to complain.

[At this point, he's honestly as impressed by her knowing a cat as he is about her (supposedly) being immortal. He should be wondering if she's even talking about the same kind of cat as he is, but... he wants to believe too much. He doesn't even ask himself, let alone her.]

Well, it's not really a traditional job, I grant you, but who wants to spend their whole life toiling in the fields or whatever it is humans do?

There are plenty of other jobs than that.

If you really want to help people and get paid for it, being a bounty hunter is probably your best shot.

[Yeah, he's. He's not letting go of that just yet. You sorta-kinda-almost-sideways insulted his friend!]

It isn't bounty hunting. There's no honor or romance to bounty hunting at all! I can't be motivated by money, it wouldn't be right.

[ Look, if she's going to help people it's because she's a dashing knight, not because there's something silly like money involved.

Besides, it's the adulation and attention she wants. Much better things to be motivated by, clearly. ]

[He wants to be impressed by the heroic ambitions, but honestly? They sound kind of dumb.

Alternatively: become an rock star/idol. That sounds about right.]

Although I suppose the locals are willing to pay me for my assistance, to some degree. Which might be enough, as long as I don't succumb to the siren call of material wealth...

[It's not that he doesn't believe her. She may be every bit as heroic as she says! But whether she is or she isn't, the way she goes about proclaiming her own amazingness kind of annoys him.

Mostly because it feels like an automatic put-down of everyone else, himself included - so it's really just a petty pride thing on his end. But there ya go.]
