Hello, everyone! I'll try to make this brief, as typing on these things can be a bit of a pain. [ but god help her if she did anything that put her face out there to more people than she was comfortable with... ]

My name is Ursula Callistis, and back home I was a teacher. Now as I'm sure you've all noticed, or at least heard, refugees from Dorchacht have come into this city. Some of you have been volunteering to build their shelters, but I had noticed there was an un-assigned building, and I've sort of taken it over as a space for them, but not as living space.

You see, a lot of the refugees are kids. Orphans, even. And I am going to convert that space into a classroom. The Coven has already agreed to help me with supplies and costs, so there's no worries there, but while I am an experienced educator, I'm still only one woman.

So! That's where you all come in! I'm looking for some volunteers to help take up some of the class schedule. Just let me know if you have any experience, what basic subjects you're willing to teach, and we can go from there!

And, just so it's clear, I appreciate any help at all, even if you're not taking on a class subject. These kids are really depending on us. So. Thank you.

Very true. I may complain about my family, but I still think I was fortunate to actually have one at all... It must be hard not to.

But kids look up to their teachers too, right? So perhaps we can sort of assume the place of family for them where no one else has.
omnicrafter: (thanks)

Well, true... It might be sort of nice, though. Or perhaps that's just me wanting to adopt them all, circumstances be damned.

(No, I won't actually adopt them all, I promise.)
omnicrafter: (remember)

Yes, mom.

Umm... maybe two or three days a week to start? I've no idea how frequent these things are supposed to be...
omnicrafter: (confession)

Is that the usual, then? I feel like three days would be good for spacing everything out so it doesn't get stale... I don't know, I've never taught a formal class before, just some miscellaneous tutelage for people here and there.

Ooh, mornings, though... Sounds like I'm going to have to take great pains to readjust my waking hours.
omnicrafter: (I promise)

Oh... that'd be good. My race is nocturnal by nature, you see, so mornings are... difficult, to put it lightly.

We'll go with that, then. I can start accumulating my own supplies and just dig into them for lessons and such, depending on what I can get my hands on that's child-friendly.

Are some of them, at least, old enough to work with needles?
omnicrafter: (mere observer)

[personal profile] omnicrafter 2019-10-12 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I wasn't aware they were monsters. I only just got here, so I'm not... fully informed on recent happenings, I suppose. I've only heard things here and there.

Not a problem, though! I'll just have to think of things that even oddly-shaped hands can do. So nothing that requires extreme precision like needlepoint...
omnicrafter: (could you rephrase that?)

[personal profile] omnicrafter 2019-10-14 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... that is good advice, yes. Perhaps I need to stop overthinking it and just see how it goes first...

You must be a teacher by trade, then, I take it?
omnicrafter: (for a friend)

Ooh... Probably not the type of astrologian I am familiar with, but interesting nonetheless. Unless there is a particular significance behind the power of the stars to witches?
omnicrafter: (why tho)

[personal profile] omnicrafter 2019-10-20 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, that I have also heard. The astrologians I have met have all used cards along with their star chart readings... at least, the ones who followed Sharlayan astrology. I've been tempted to ask a friend of mine how it works, but I'm a little afraid it'll turn into a long and winding lecture.
