Hello, everyone! I'll try to make this brief, as typing on these things can be a bit of a pain. [ but god help her if she did anything that put her face out there to more people than she was comfortable with... ]

My name is Ursula Callistis, and back home I was a teacher. Now as I'm sure you've all noticed, or at least heard, refugees from Dorchacht have come into this city. Some of you have been volunteering to build their shelters, but I had noticed there was an un-assigned building, and I've sort of taken it over as a space for them, but not as living space.

You see, a lot of the refugees are kids. Orphans, even. And I am going to convert that space into a classroom. The Coven has already agreed to help me with supplies and costs, so there's no worries there, but while I am an experienced educator, I'm still only one woman.

So! That's where you all come in! I'm looking for some volunteers to help take up some of the class schedule. Just let me know if you have any experience, what basic subjects you're willing to teach, and we can go from there!

And, just so it's clear, I appreciate any help at all, even if you're not taking on a class subject. These kids are really depending on us. So. Thank you.

[ With no signage yet in place, and the buildings surrounding the classroom still unfinished, she realized she probably should have given more clear instructions on where to find her. Thankfully, she was standing outside the door when her eyes caught him, uh... tonguing about, for lack of a better word. ]

Eren! [ She called to him, waving him over. ]

[ he’s coming!!!!! he’s coming and he was sure that he was in the right direction; hearing and seeing her up ahead is what helps in his getting there, something of a little jog on his lizard legs, and tail slightly holding up so that it doesn’t drag. ]

Ursula . . . [ wow— wow!!!! ] It’s starting to look like a classroom already.

[ there aren’t too many supplies in place, but the ones stacked and ready are enough to make a class for him (like a few chairs and shit lmao he is a simple man) ]

One certainly hopes. [ Ursula huffed with a small, tired laugh, placing her hands at her hips. ]

I've got a list together for you. It's mostly things like notebooks, pencils, that sort of thing. I still need to find out what textbooks are even available in town before I get that far.

[usurpers]

[ he's listening— and totally ready to trash that list with more school supplies than a staples during september sales. ]

I can give you a heads up while I'm out. [ it's not a huge deal if he just has to ask. he'll already be there to begin with. ] They won't have to pay for any of this?

The coven's footing the whole bill.

Well. At least as far as supplies and furnishings go.

[usurpers]

. . . Not teachers?

[ that’s.

[ She'd been dreading a comment like that. ]

It's not as if they have an infinite budget. This is volunteer position, not a vocation. I understand if that aspect turns some folks away, of course...

[usurpers]

It might. [ he says, but only realistically. he doesn't want to burst anyone's bubbles, but. hm.

people can't make a living out of community service. ]

Are you the one in charge of everything?

Well, it was my idea, so it only made sense to take on the bulk of the work. No sense in proposing something if you don't intend to contribute, right?

Of course I don't expect more than maybe an hour or two a week from most of the other volunteers. It'd be unfair to ask more, particularly since it's not compensated.

[usurpers]

Not really. [ just. deadpan disagreement. the contribution should be equal in society, even if the idea was hers. everyone in agreement should be giving the same amount. ] What happens when we leave? Kids lose their school?

[beariot]

[ Ursula adjusted her glasses, letting out a hum and a nod. ] I did mention that to the Coven, and part of my responsibility here is to assure a chain of succession is in place should I be spirited back through the mirrors some day.

There... aren't a whole lot of other career teachers around, but hopefully I can train someone who's willing to put in the time.

[ His disagreement with her was... sort of left aside. Ursula just operated under the assumption that most folks wouldn't be willing to do what she was doing, and put in that time, unpaid. Her hope was that she could find someone who was, as contingency, eventually. ]
