[ Daenerys had made it quite clear since arriving that she does not trust many. She's spoken out against the Coven in their fear of opposing Dorchacht when slavery was a very serious reality and also wary of how quickly dignitaries were shipped off to take responsibility for something outside of their control. So today, she is visible with a serious expression on her face — although those eyes still have a warmth to them that her closer allies may recognize.

There's no pleasantries, instead: ]

It has been a little bit since many of us have returned from Dorchacht. My bones have settled back into the bed I’ve grown use to, but my mind still wanders. I can not shake a sense of… discomfort after everything, even if my heart is pleased to know we have helped forged a better future for Dorchacht.

However, I ask of you all — how do we feel returning back to this city? How do you feel about the Coven in Aefenglom in their role of this prior month? We have been shown kindness, however we not native here and if it comes between us and their “peace”, I am not foolish enough to put my faith to them. We were sent into a situation that could have ended tragically. I call that irresponsible and it is clear Aefenglom was willing to stay silent keeping peace. There are things the Coven has done, although not quite as enraging as Dorchacht, which leaves me feeling frustrated and wary.

I ask this question not to sway opinion, but to discuss where do we — the ones from the mirrors — go if Aefenglom is no longer the ally we may believe them to be? Having this conversation of where our allegiance lies will help make choices easier – more collective — going forth.

[ HI GUYS. This is a big ole open post for everyone to discuss the shakiness of Aefenglom, Parliament, and the Coven as a whole in regards to the Mirrorbound. I hope to move a plot forward of seeking independence without Aefenglom’s influence in the next few weeks and would love to ICly get talks going so points can be made for why this could be a good or bad thing. I will be refining a plot proposal based upon the feedback ICly brought up here!! I will try to reply to topics relevant to Dany, but this is kind of a springboard for a broader discussion. So go ham, thread jack, etc! ]

Oaths are oaths, no matter whether you swear them on a wedding day or not. Words have more power than many people want to give them. Or at least they do in my experience.

[ Hmmhm. ]

What would you do to make us less of a problem, then? I'm curious.

I seek guidance for this. I am not a Queen here, I seek the wisdom of others as much as what my own heart tells me. [ She has to!!! ] Their world is plagued by the Cwyld and we are plagued with the desire to return home. Perhaps... we can work towards solving both of those problems together. Jointly.

That is the idea, I imagine. Although they also don't really have a good reason to let us into their parliament, do they? There's a few score of us and thousands upon thousands of them...

It is a difficult topic. [ She admits, she knows. There's an honest concern in her calm voice. ] One that I... am at a loss for finding an answer to. It is not simply my decree to make movement on this alone.

[ Or at all. ]

Giving more than they get is not inherently charity or good will. Someone once told me rich men do not get rich by giving more than they get and I believe this gesture.

[ People have died because of it and she almost lost her babies because of it :( ]

Some are generous by nature, but I doubt they are...

[ There's a note of wistfulness in Iramaat's voice. Something a touch cautious under the whimsy. ]

I don't doubt there's a reason for all of it, but we don't know what that reason is. And we can do something about it - change our fate as it were - but I'm not sure what to do just yet. Or whether we should. As I said, our ranks are small and we aren't united in one purpose, either. So that makes our acting all the more difficult.

[ Iramaat laughs. ]

But because it is difficult, perhaps we should.

Perhaps the first step is transparency. Go to them collectively. Discuss that us mirrorbound do not want to be grouped as their people — if our group decides that. We would like to act independently and help Aefenglom when they need it. Just as we have been given help, we return the gesture. Not become indebted to it.

Do we want to act collectively, though? And how do we choose who represents us? Now we get into the weeds and the weeds... are troublesome, aren't they?

In the end, I don't think we have a choice - we save this world or perish with it.

I do not know the answers. If I had right and rule, I would demand answers and most likely make enemies – I am seeking others valuable thoughts out on the matter.

[ And then the grim sentence follows: save this world or perish with it. It weighs her down a bit, makes her face scrunch up with discomfort. ]

...We need maesters, we need people to study and go out into this plague. Aefenglom already is doing that, I believe...

They are, as far as I'm aware. I wonder if some of us could provide other insights...

[ She hums quietly. ]

I'm used to swooping in and saving the day - not... ah. Planning. I can do politicking in a pinch, though.

It is a rather delicate artform, one that I am still learning. [ Especially with no DRAGONS to threaten with. :/ ] The hope was posing these questions to allow us to at least begin coming together for a joint goal. I'm understanding now how tricky that may be...

What we really need is someone to unite behind, I think. Wish I could do it, but I'm... really more of a knight than a leader.

I agree, but that carries a lot of weight. We all come from different walks of life, different things. It isn't as simple as a King or Queen taking this role as theirs.

Isn't it? People want to be led. Especially mortals...

It is their nature to flock to those who can offer salvation.
