Name: Cú Chulainn (Caster) and Waver Velvet
Date: 4th
Format: video
[ The video feed shows the interior of a place some people might already recognize: a tattoo parlor in the harbor district that has been going through renovation and refurbishing efforts with the assistance of various Mirrorbound. Those who helped out the previous month at various stages can see things brought in or helped to fix. The place looks much more put-together now, fully furnished, clean and organized.
Cu comes on screen with a wide grin. ]
Hey, Inkchanted team here! First, thank you to everyone who helped with making this— happen. And thanks to all who helped us restock. To those who don't know what it is about? We're gonna offer some enchanted tattoo services very soon. Kind of like these here.
[ He pulls down the long glove on his arm to uncover a complicated pattern made of Ogham-like runes. ]
They're spells that can be activated without chanting them out loud. You know, like how enchantment lessons teach you how to enchant objects? It's the same, only we enchant flesh. But there is one more interesting thing that we’ve got here— [He reaches out of the camera view. ] Waver, could you help and demonstrate?
[ The camera pans to the dog Turnskin, who waves a bit awkwardly, showing off a bracelet-like design of small, densely inked runes that spiral around his right wrist. ]
Hi... yes. [ Waver clears his throat, apparently a bit nervous about being on camera, but presses on. ] See, the tattoos work for nonhumans -- for Monsters, too.
[ Lifting his wrist, he shows off the runework. Then, he brings another item up to the camera with his opposite hand. It's a large shard of obsidian set in a metal backing, as if for a pendant. Waver's fingers tighten around it, and at the same time, he twists his tattooed wrist and turns his palm up.
A softly-glowing orb materializes in his hand. A light spell. ]
By combining the enchanted ink, spell tattoos, and a magically-infused source to pull from, you can use a number of spells. The source -- think of it as a battery, basically -- can be recharged.
[ Another small demonstration: the light disappears, and Waver makes another gesture, this time away from the camera. A soft breeze flutters Caster's clothes.
Caster's eyes light up with an excited flame (firewitches and their glowing eyes, eh?). This is it, a chance for Monsters to partake in magic Witches use every day. He gives Waver a friendly fistbump on his shoulder. Be proud! ]
The spell effect varies, and I'm still compiling the list of what's available, but I thought this could be a good chance to ask the Monster populace here—
What kind of spells would you be interested in? Can't guarantee everything will be possible, but we are going to look into the most sought-after options.
「 ooc: both Waver and Cu are going to reply under the post, depending on the subject most likely. or preference if it's mentioned 」

Video.
He drums a finger on his lip thoughtfully, before going on]
Perhaps a niche interest, but I would appreciate a spell to conjure fresh rain or water. It would be most helpful in tending to my plants. Is that something that could be looked into?
no subject
Absolutely. Conjuring elements is one of the spells available. With fire enchantment, I always recommend going with paired fire immunity, unless someone doesn't explicitly need it. [ Like oh, some fire dragons. But those immune to fire usually have fire of their own so... Caster hums thoughtfully ] General water manipulation spells either condense it from the air around or create it from scratch. It's up to you how you make it manifest, but that would require some practice. If you want I could look into modifying the spell to be softer by default.
[ So there won't be accidental splashing the vulnerable plants— ]

Especially when he tended so many plants, that's just kindling waiting to happen...]

Especially since being able to give monsters the ability to use some magic sounds real good, since the inequality issues still bother her. But.. ]
.. You're sure it's safe though, right? I mean, I'm not from a place where magic is normal, so you can imagine the words "enchant flesh" sound.. [ She pauses, trying to find some diplomatic way to say this. (She sucks at that though.) ] .. freaky.
Re: video;
I've been doing this on myself for months, and nothing really bad happened so far. [ He's a self-made man, and his wording can be at times, questionable. ] You could try with something simple and small if you're scared.

We've been testing it. Besides, it's not actually much different in principle from using something like a spell scroll, but it's more effective and can't be lost or stolen from you. It lasts longer too.
If you're not interested in tattoos, we're working on offering alternative methods too, such as those based on makeup or painting the enchanted ink onto your skin instead of inside it. The effects won't last as long of course, but it may be more convenient than having to buy spell scrolls and spelled items and such.

Oh, that's such a wonderful idea! [Especially since she misses her magic - ]
Let's see... I would certainly be interested in healing and protection spells. And maybe some form of immunity against ice too.
[Because going outside is a huge, tiring mission now and she hates it.]
no subject
Ice immunity is certainly on the table right from the start. Healing, hmm, not yet. [ Healing magic, his greatest enemy. But hey, here it is, an actual vote for it. ] As for protection it depends on what kind of wards do you have in mind. Something akin to shield, to block physical damage, or more of a passive resistance to something?

Out of curiosity, would you prefer a self-healing spell, something that speeds up the healing rate of the body, or something more akin to a regular healing spell that can be directed at someone else.

But in theory, they should be able to do that. Helping with focusing on where and how the flow of energy goes, should strengthen the accompanying effect.

Healing is something that will show up later, according to our roadmap. But if you want control over the element of air, I got you.
What could you do with it back home?
[video] i meant to tag this sooner, if you're interested in a backtag!
[It certainly looked realistic, and everything of his voice and face - in so far as the expressions of a skeleton turnskin are recognizable - are filled with eager hope.]
Do... Do you think your tattoos would work on bone?
ahhh, I absolutely am!
No pranking, not this time! [ Just in case his reputation as a menace got out of his friend circle ] While tattoos require skin, wouldn't the closest equivalent for the bone would be engraving? The spells can also be painted, that's a short-term solution but makes it easy to swap different effects quickly
I'm willing to find out what works best for you
heck yeah o/\o
