[ The video feed shows the interior of a place some people might already recognize: a tattoo parlor in the harbor district that has been going through renovation and refurbishing efforts with the assistance of various Mirrorbound. Those who helped out the previous month at various stages can see things brought in or helped to fix. The place looks much more put-together now, fully furnished, clean and organized.
Cu comes on screen with a wide grin. ]
Hey, Inkchanted team here! First, thank you to everyone who helped with making this— happen. And thanks to all who helped us restock. To those who don't know what it is about? We're gonna offer some enchanted tattoo services very soon. Kind of like these here.
[ He pulls down the long glove on his arm to uncover a complicated pattern made of Ogham-like runes. ]
They're spells that can be activated without chanting them out loud. You know, like how enchantment lessons teach you how to enchant objects? It's the same, only we enchant flesh. But there is one more interesting thing that we’ve got here— [He reaches out of the camera view. ] Waver, could you help and demonstrate?
[ The camera pans to the dog Turnskin, who waves a bit awkwardly, showing off a bracelet-like design of small, densely inked runes that spiral around his right wrist. ]
Hi... yes. [ Waver clears his throat, apparently a bit nervous about being on camera, but presses on. ] See, the tattoos work for nonhumans -- for Monsters, too.
[ Lifting his wrist, he shows off the runework. Then, he brings another item up to the camera with his opposite hand. It's a large shard of obsidian set in a metal backing, as if for a pendant. Waver's fingers tighten around it, and at the same time, he twists his tattooed wrist and turns his palm up.
A softly-glowing orb materializes in his hand. A light spell. ]
By combining the enchanted ink, spell tattoos, and a magically-infused source to pull from, you can use a number of spells. The source -- think of it as a battery, basically -- can be recharged.
[ Another small demonstration: the light disappears, and Waver makes another gesture, this time away from the camera. A soft breeze flutters Caster's clothes.
Caster's eyes light up with an excited flame (firewitches and their glowing eyes, eh?). This is it, a chance for Monsters to partake in magic Witches use every day. He gives Waver a friendly fistbump on his shoulder. Be proud! ]
The spell effect varies, and I'm still compiling the list of what's available, but I thought this could be a good chance to ask the Monster populace here—
What kind of spells would you be interested in? Can't guarantee everything will be possible, but we are going to look into the most sought-after options.
「 ooc: both Waver and Cu are going to reply under the post, depending on the subject most likely. or preference if it's mentioned 」

Video.
He drums a finger on his lip thoughtfully, before going on]
Perhaps a niche interest, but I would appreciate a spell to conjure fresh rain or water. It would be most helpful in tending to my plants. Is that something that could be looked into?
no subject
Absolutely. Conjuring elements is one of the spells available. With fire enchantment, I always recommend going with paired fire immunity, unless someone doesn't explicitly need it. [ Like oh, some fire dragons. But those immune to fire usually have fire of their own so... Caster hums thoughtfully ] General water manipulation spells either condense it from the air around or create it from scratch. It's up to you how you make it manifest, but that would require some practice. If you want I could look into modifying the spell to be softer by default.
[ So there won't be accidental splashing the vulnerable plants— ]

Especially when he tended so many plants, that's just kindling waiting to happen...]

Immunity to fire and manifesting water are both possible. They can be weaved into one tattoo, or two separate ones. Speaking from experience... at first, it's easier to focus on which spell to activate if the tattoos are separated.
[ Which makes him realize ]
Ah, I think we forgot to tell— the tattooed spells are not permanent. They will eventually fade out with use.

Would having multiple of such tattoos mean only one can be utilized at a time? As in, an active immunity to fire could not be used at the same time as the water spell? [He knows he can't necessarily multi-task his plant growing magic. It took all his attention to use any one ability inherent to him. The tattoos only being a one at a time deal makes sense, but it doesn't hurt to know for certain]
no subject
Quite on the contrary. I found it much easier to fire off two spells at the same time if they are part of one design, and easier to use them separately if they are, well, separated. [ Using his teeth he takes off a long glove off his arm, uncovering that down his elbows, his hand is covered with an intricate design made of lots and lots of runes. Briefly, the ink shines before covering his hand in a flame ] Elemental enchantment and elemental immunity I like to weave together, since one makes the other necessary, and that's what I would suggest for starters. But I've been doing it so long I can just choose which to use and which not. It's possible to use two spells in different tattoos at the same time.
[ But again, that requires practice ]
The immunity can be activated and deactivated at will. It will last from around twenty to thirty hours of continued use. [ So really, a lot longer if it's used only when needed. ]

When a battery runs itself out of magic, what is the best way to renew it? Return to you and yours for a touch up? Or would Witch's Blood do, as with the enchanted boar?
no subject
Blood should work as well. Though there is a catch— even if ink in the tattoo would keep the spell, for say those exact twenty hours of active use, it doesn't mean that battery can support it for that long. It all depends on the material being used - cheaper materials, shorter battery life.
no subject
I will always prefer to return to the source... but it's good to have a backup plan, in case anything more dire occurs. [he'd rather not DIY this, really, but if something dangerous occurs, it would be good to know the how-to]
What would be the ideal material, then?
no subject
[ One of the reasons. It suits as "official" reason, even if it's far from main. But it's true that this stone seemed more accessible there. But ah, back to the subject. ]
Of more readily available cheaper options, copper, bronze, quartz, and obsidian are the best. Glass stores magic energy surprisingly well, but there's a catch— it breaks easily if it's infused incorrectly.

I will certainly keep an eye out for affordable opal, on your behalf, when I also travel there. Are you doing any Wilde expeditions soon, messere?
no subject
And he'll get to that opal question later on ]

To rescue any innocents and bring any others to justice. I believe that the best course of action, to mend the bond of our two cities. Protection would be much appreciated, in achieving such an endeavor.
