_{[When the feed connects there's nothing to be seen other than a standard sized, wooden chair in the middle of a meagerly furnished dorm room. Soon however a rather petite figure comes into view, one with a cute face and rather large, pointy ears. She can't be more than three feet tall by the looks of it and once she's clambered atop the chair she's left standing on it, only to thrust her arms dramatically in the air for a big wave, a high pitched voice following the action.]}

Hullo! I'm Tataru Taru but just Tataru will do. Twenty one summers old and at your service!

_{[That's right, she's just fun sized. Her arms drop to her sides as she continues.]}

Now I know I haven't been here for very long, but I realized rather quickly that not many here have heard of Lalafell. No I am not a Fae, nor am I anything but a fully grown lady - we Lalafell are simply a small, youthful race - and quite successful might I add, especially when it comes to trade and magic.

_{[She gestures to herself, pointing to her chest.]}

So, for those curious Monsters and Witches out there, not only am I a Lalafell lady but I'm almost a whole Yalm in height. Quite tall!

_{[And it doesn't take her too long to find him, the long, slender bodied man sticking out from the crowd. As for Tataru she's dressed in a cozy coat and mittens, dressed properly for the weather. Approaching Tendou she waves up at him with both arms to get his attention.]}

Hullo! Tendou, wasn't it?

[ she's. dear lord, she's so cute. tendou's only managed a scarf and an average coat over shorts and sporty leggings— more like a sweater that's possibly a few sizes too big. immediately. immediately, he kneels and holds his hand out. ]

That's me—?! [ oh my goodness ] I'm going to buy you so much ice cream.

_{[Ah, well, this is kind of nice? She's not used to people kneeling down to greet her. It makes her feel a bit important...but surely most women do when they get a man to get on his knees for her? Stretching out one of her mittened hands she shakes his in greeting.]}

[ hand shakes!! oh, tiny handshakes. his hand is so big next to hers— you can imagine, a volleyball player! with callouses and bruises where he wraps finger bandages around each lanky digit. he doesn't take her mitten with one hand, but two, clasping them as gently as he can yet surprisingly snug! ]

[ alas, he has to rise to be able to lead her, but look how much he's hunching. to hell with his back and neck, he could stretch later! ] You said you were from Lalafell? M'from Sendai, in Japan! You're going to have to tell me all about their ice cream to see if we could get something up to par.

Oh no, Lalafell isn't a place, it's a race. I'm a Lalafell, but I'm from the city-state Ul'dah.

_{[Unsurprisingly, she's never heard of Japan. Even so, she's always been interested in learning about new places and things.]}

Is Sendai known for ice cream? Ul'dah certainly isn't.

_{[If anything it's known for its alcohol.]}

Oh! [ he bows his head a few times as a bit of an apology. at least lalafell has a better ring to it now. a lalafell. good. ]

It's known for its zelkova trees! [ his arm shoots up to show that they are what trees usually are: very big. ] "The City of Trees", they even call it. But we got some pretty good chocolate ice cream.

[ but maybe that's just because he's biased for chocolate ice cream. ]

_{[To be fair, having a bias toward ice cream is valid. Tataru can get behind that.]}

Ul'dah is a city known for its commerce, markets and merchants. It's also quite well known for its alcohol, thanks to the alchemist guild.

Sounds like a hardy place.

[ or just a massive bar! Not that tendou knows beyond movies. But seeing her take interest— tendou reaches for his phone in his side pocket— ah, damn. he clicks his tongue when he sees the home screen at 9%, but . . . it should be enough. Photo album app open, he keeps it open to a single one. ]

[ she’ll get a few more photos and then there’s some stuff. ]

_{[Her surprise is palpable as she stares at the screen offered to her, gingerly taking it to do as she's shown and swipe through the photographs. Those big eyes of hers? They've gone even wider. Amazing, I know. When she gets to the other, er, photos, she can't help the grin that grips her.]}

Are these friends of yours? You seem to be having a good time.

[ she's so fucking majestic how has he even lived before meeting her?! and at the other photos of home, oh! he definitely grins back, more captivated by her own amusement. ]

[ there's a gap in the line; he steps and bends to guide her along as she watched. ]

You hit the ball over the net, see? Or you block 'em, [ enthusiastic!! points at himself!! ] Like me! I'm what you'd call a "Middle Blocker"! Name of the game's to hit the floor on the other side to score!

_{[The sound of amazement that comes out of her is one of genuine delight as she watches the video on his phone. So it's a sport then? She's never seen such a game played before, but it seems quite exciting and fast paced.]}

It looks incredible...and everyone seems to jump so high!

_{[And everyone is so tall...]}

I could never play a sport like this...but it's very impressive!

[ let him seeee . . . and, there. he goes back a few seconds and says there on the player that has a different colored uniform compared to his team: in karasuno's case, the orange jersey, compared to black. nishinoya just saves his team from a monster spike. ]

The libero is the team's defense. They're not allowed to attack, shortest players on the team . . . I think that birdie, [ noya ] was only half a hand taller than you. [ he wishes noya could hear that, the fluster would give tendou pleasure. anywho, he muses! and makes his hands into "claws" ] But they can be some rad little demons on their terrain, y'know? It's almost annoying when they catch your hits.

[ they're almost at their ice cream . . . ! ]

[ because who enjoys an easy game?! ]

_{[Well. She definitely wasn't expecting an answer like that to come out of him. It has her blinking up at Tendou, somewhat surprised, that he seemed so confident in reassuring her that a person as short as her could play a game like this.]}

It sounds fun. _{[She means that too.]} You must enjoy it a lot. Maybe someday you can show me how to play?

[ tendou doesn't expect an answer any less for her! can't play! that's rubbish. she could play to her heart's content. but! she's . . . right about enjoying it! and not because he actually loves volleyball, he wasn't one of those monster crow children or wakatoshi that slept with a volleyball. no sir. ]

It gives me creative freedom. And vengeance, sort of. [ he says that with a little bounce, on the tip of his toes. ah, their ice cream! it's their turn! ] Chocolate for me— Tarutaru, if we team up and I show you the ropes, we can even have a finishing power move.
