is anyone not going on the expedition that could keep an eye on Cezar for me?

[Attached is a picture of black pug, with heavy scarring over the right eye. His tongue is lolled out of his mouth happily, and the old wound doesn't seem like it bothers him.]

[Oh no he's so cute!! But she can't bring an animal back to the house for however long people are off on the expedition without asking for permission from her housemates. And they already have a cat and a snake....]

What were you hoping for such a person to do to keep an eye on Cezar?

to either take him home with them until I get back or come by my apartment to feed him and let him out a couple of times a day. the former would likely be the lesser imposition.

[It is a big ask for a stranger, he knows.]

I would have to ask Lady Edelgard for permission first if I was going to take him back to the house, but if it is feeding him and letting him out, I would be happy to do that!
Though I have never looked after a pet before. So I might not be the best choice.

[She doesn't say anything about the offer of pay, because she's caught between "I'd do it for free for a cute animal" and "I should help to support my household!!"]

[Hector is willing to trust a child with his dog, so long as the child is someone who loves animals like he does. He's not going to do it if it is a hardship, though, or if it puts the child at risk of getting into trouble.]

If your housemate does not approve, maybe you can watch him for a day and I can make other arrangements for the rest of the time.

[There’s several minutes of no further response as Leslie looks to see if Edelgard is still awake and not busy. She could also go asking Hubert and Bernadetta, but she knows that if Edelgard doesn’t tell her to ask them as well, that means that the emperor has spoken and it is now household policy.]

Is Cezar okay around cats?
Lady Edelgard has a cat, so he is not allowed in if he would chase them.
But if he will not hurt the cat, he may stay with me.

Cezar won’t hurt a cat. he might chase them if they are playing. i don’t know if that would cause issue.

I think that would be okay, as long as he is only playing.
So I can keep him with me if you would like for me to look after him.
It seems like you have some others who are interested.

[Leslie still isn't sure if it's eavesdropping to read other people's conversations, but she can see that there have been several responses.]

if you watch him for a few days, i think i can arrange to have another friend take him on walks and to take over if i am not back by then.

[The city seems decently safe to Hector, but he is an adult man. He isn't sure if a child would been as comfortable walking around on her own with just a small dog for company.]

Does he need to be walked further than around the Haven?

[Wisely or unwisely, Leslie has felt safe to walk within the bounds of the Haven even without a small dog, even if she rarely ventures outside of that on her own save for a direct route to the Coven.]

no. he has very short legs. he doesn't have to go far to get his energy out.

Then I do not mind walking him while he is with me.
I walk to places within the Haven sometimes on my own when I am not going to the Coven for lessons.
It would not be any trouble.

[He isn't parental, but he does want to make sure this small child and his dog are both safe.]

If anything, it is my pleasure.
I never had any pets when I was a child, so I am happy to be able to spend time with as cute of a dog as Cezar.

Let me know when you have coordinated with the others who have volunteered and you know what days you would like for me to be responsible for Cezar's care.
And if you have any particular instructions for how to care for him.

i'll make you a list of everything you'll need to know and a schedule. do you know papyrus? he's the other one who's going to be helping out.

that is up to you. he is nice, if excitable. i can arrange all the details, though, so he comes to pick up Cezar at an arranged time.
