Name: Hresvelg (Edelgard von Hresvelg)
Date: 3/4
Format: Video
[A video feed flickers to life in the early evening, not long after sunset. The focus is briefly on Edelgard, dressed in a crisp looking white shirt with a high collar. Her hair is down, her crown set aside for the moment. She smiles, offering the viewers a quick nod, before speaking]
Good evening. My name is Edelgard, for those of you who do not know me.
[She clears her throat and the video lurches in unpracticed hands. Turning down towards a dog that's peering curiously up at the watch. It's jaw hangs open a bit in a doggy smile, but otherwise it doesn't seem too bothered by the device.]]
I was wondering if this dog belongs to anyone. He's remarkably well trained, and I believe he's escaped from his owner, but there was no collar. Unfortunately, he seems to have taken a shine to me after I found him rooting around in my garden two nights hence, and he's been trying to follow me indoors.
[She sighs.]
Asking him to sit yields results, but he won't leave. I confess I've little experience with dogs, and if he doesn't belong to anyone...does anyone know if such behavior is normal?
Thank you for any information you can provide. I can meet you somewhere if you'd prefer not to use the watches or want to see him. I await your-oh! Goodness!
[She cuts off as the dog moves suddenly, tail wagging as it decides to get closer, feeling more friendly.]
...Response!
[That strained, croaked out word is the last before the feed cuts out.]
[OOC Note: The dog belongs to nobody, and ultimately she's going to be convinced to keep it. Additionally if you'd prefer in-person threads, just let me know in your subject line and we can work that out!]

[An immediate answer.]
His coloring resembles hounds that the Aegir family breeds, and Ferdinand von Aegir is the current head of that household.
[After Duke Aegir had wound up in a dungeon. For nooooo reason at all...]
He's a bit of an overly energetic oaf, but a trusted companion.
no subject
Sounds like a good name.
[She said seriously...and then her tone turned teasing.]
And you were already going to keep him, weren't you.
no subject
[Truth.]
But the moment Leslie expressed an interest in keeping him around, I'd say my fate was sealed.
no subject
Didn't take her long to be in charge, huh?
no subject
[Meaning more her, Bernie, and Hubert, but she can include Azura and Corrin in there.]
no subject
[Corrin hesitated before smiling again.]
I mean, I can see why, she's really hard to resist.
no subject
[And she's had a hard life.]
I'm thinking of this as a practice run for home.
no subject
I guess an emperor does need heirs, don't they.
no subject
[She waves a hand.]
My...Crest situation...you understand. And I intend to step down once things can be put in order, as well. I just...I'm finding that I like children.
no subject
[Corrin moved back onto the happier subject though.]
Children can be pretty great, really. I guess I've just never really given thought to having any, you know?
[It wasn't that she didn't want them, just that she didn't think that far ahead.]
no subject
[She's trying to avoid being direct about this on the network.]
And honestly, have you thought much further ahead than dinner lately?
no subject
Sometimes!
[She sighed.]
It just seemed like something I'd worry about later on. I imagined i would have to get married and have children eventually since, royalty. But beyond that...
no subject
[She gets it.]
no subject
Honestly? I didn't really have plans.

no subject
[Knowing how detailed Edelgard was with her plans, it made her feel almost ashamed to admit this.]
My life was very controlled. There just wasn't really any room for planning a future when all that was going to happen to me was dictated by Garon.
no subject
[She forced the hand of her controller, though.
no subject
Now with the war, I haven't been able to think much past the next battle. And then here I...
[She trailed off into silence. Here, thoughts of future included a fear of Edelgard or Azura or the people she had met going home without her. Which was why she didn't dwell on it, but saying that out loud felt wrong somehow. She suddenly laughed, a quick, surprised half-sound.]
Hah. I guess you're right, I really don't think much past dinner do I?
no subject
[She felt that, Corrin. It's hard to lie to your Bonded.]
Thank you for thinking of me.
no subject
Yeah I...of course.
It...just...would be very strange to not be with you anymore.
no subject
[She does, the bond doesn't lie.]
Would you like to come over and meet the hound?
no subject
[She just tried not to. Happier thoughts.]
I'd love to.
no subject
[Come save her.]
no subject
[Corrin laughed again, her mood improving.]
I'll be home in a few minutes.
[And she clicked off the screen and set to walk back to the house.]
