[A video feed flickers to life in the early evening, not long after sunset. The focus is briefly on Edelgard, dressed in a crisp looking white shirt with a high collar. Her hair is down, her crown set aside for the moment. She smiles, offering the viewers a quick nod, before speaking]
Good evening. My name is Edelgard, for those of you who do not know me.
[She clears her throat and the video lurches in unpracticed hands. Turning down towards a dog that's peering curiously up at the watch. It's jaw hangs open a bit in a doggy smile, but otherwise it doesn't seem too bothered by the device.]]
I was wondering if this dog belongs to anyone. He's remarkably well trained, and I believe he's escaped from his owner, but there was no collar. Unfortunately, he seems to have taken a shine to me after I found him rooting around in my garden two nights hence, and he's been trying to follow me indoors.
[She sighs.]
Asking him to sit yields results, but he won't leave. I confess I've little experience with dogs, and if he doesn't belong to anyone...does anyone know if such behavior is normal?
Thank you for any information you can provide. I can meet you somewhere if you'd prefer not to use the watches or want to see him. I await your-oh! Goodness!
[She cuts off as the dog moves suddenly, tail wagging as it decides to get closer, feeling more friendly.]
...Response!
[That strained, croaked out word is the last before the feed cuts out.]
[OOC Note: The dog belongs to nobody, and ultimately she's going to be convinced to keep it. Additionally if you'd prefer in-person threads, just let me know in your subject line and we can work that out!]

Since...since yesterday afternoon. [So not super long after Edelgard found him two nights ago.] When I was returning from the Coven, he was sitting outside the door and he looked really hungry. So I brought out some of the dog food I had left from when I was looking after Cezar, and he seemed really happy about it, so I brought out some more later in the day before you got up when I saw he was still there, and a couple of times today.

[Leslie that face...
Well, she's not angry at least.]
You know you shouldn't overfeed a dog, right? Please be careful about that. We'll want to schedule times for him to eat, so that he'll know when to expect food and won't go making a mess trying to get it.

I'll remember. But wouldn't he stop eating once he was full? Mr. Hector told me what times to feed Cezar, but I thought that was a scheduling thing, like how I eat breakfast, lunch, and supper these days.

[You can do it girl.]

[Leslie can get eating until you’re sick after being starved for days (she may be remembering an unfortunate incident in her past), but to do so merely because the food was there.... She curls her hands into fists and replies with a determined expression.]
Don’t worry, Lady Edelgard. I will make sure that never happens to Ferdie, or either of the cats.
[She wonders if there are any books on the proper standards for feeding dogs and cats. Or maybe she can ask Hector for advice....]

[It's animal instinct, really. And she is terribly glad that Leslie understands.]
Thank you for that. I'll leave them in your care when I have to rest.
[Ferdie barks at the camera, snuffling at it with a wet nose.]
...And I think he'll make it easy for you, too.

He seems very well-behaved. Most of the time.
[He seems to resist people not wanting him to be in their lap, and by people she means Edelgard.]
I wonder if he'll want to be up in the night more often to be with you.

[It's hard to say, honestly. With this dog, anything goes!]
Are you at home now, Leslie? If you are, you should come out to the porch.
