Seeking anyone with an interest in insects:

I have been reading a guide about the various insects found throughout the city. And as the weather has been warming up, I have been surveying to see what I can find.

I have so far found the following:
A giant snail
This rather cute poodle moth
and this tarantula.

I also came across this rather... curious looking specimen but, my book has no information as to what it could be. If anyone has any suggestions I would be most interested to hear it! I would also be interested to hear about any bugs you come across.

That'd probably be even funnier if I knew what Dilan looked like.

My dad got a little squeamish when I was holding the one I found. He kept trying to smile because I was being so cheerful, but you could tell he just wanted me to toss it away.

Dilan is one of the castle guards. He's rather large. And has sideburns, if that helps.

And your father sounds like he handled it better than Dilan did. Though, in fairness to him, the spider I was holding did bolt out of my hands and across his boots...

Oh my gosh I wish I would have been there. That must have been hilarious.

In hindsight it is rather funny. Though at the time I was mostly confused he was panicking so much. After all it was only a spider.

Yeah well, kids don't understand adults a lot of the time.

What ended up happening to the spider?

That's certainly true. And the spider disappeared behind some shelving, never to be seen again. I'm fairly sure it ended up keeping pests away for us for quite some time after.

Except maybe Dilan. Since he had to worry about it being out there after that.

Eh, you were a kid. I'm sure he got over it.

You know, unless the spider crawled over his face in the middle of the night or something.
