Has anyone noticed if the people who arrived the other week have started going back yet? [Very blunt. So blunt, it almost sounds like she can't wait to be rid of them. But she's just wondering how long she has until Jean just disappears and she's alone again.

What happens when people return? Has it always happened out of sight?

[He cannot see it, but Mikasa was frowning. Staying silent for a moment even when she'd already started the recording.]

...That sounds too complicated.

Multiple worlds is already a pain to keep track of. [While Mtt was being a nerd, Mikasa was being a jock. Just not gonna think to hard on it.]

I don't get why you're so worried about us not meeting again.

[Overthinking about the plausibility of everyone retaining their memories? Not happening, not relevant, not now. So when Mikasa diverts their conversation back onto a track pertaining to Jean and Mikasa's recollection aligning, he feels relieved.

He relaxes somewhat, though it might be hard to tell with his lack of expressive, humanoid features. His monitor goes yellow.]

WHO KNOWS? HAHA.

[He doesn't need to embarrass her further... Not that she would be. Jean, however, might be... if he were to watch this line, and if Mettaton were to voice his thoughts any further. He raises a finger, the number 1 displaying on his screen.]

BUT! HAVING HIM HERE MUST BE A LITTLE LESS LONELY. SOMEONE TO SHARE YOUR HISTORY WITH... SURELY, KNOWING HE'LL ALSO BE THERE WHEN YOU RETURN. THAT'S WORTH WISHING TO REMEMBER IT ALL, RIGHT, DARLING?

[But would Jean be embarrassed at his crush being oblivious, or everyone else knowing about his feeling but the crush?

For her part, she just sighs.]

Yes. [He'd be there anyway, but that had angered the robot before so she stays hush.]

BECAUSE I'M INTERESTED IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS, OF COURSE! AND WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.

[A fairly simple answer, even if it doesn't make sense. Also because Jean got flustered and couldn't do video... That was fun.]

Why are you talking about relationships then? Friends are nice but I have other things I like.

[Mettaton is being presumptuous, that living here must be better than living there... Though he acknowledges internally that Mikasa's world is her home. The fact of the matter is that people don't really have a choice in being here; may as well make the best of it while they're here, he thinks.]

He seems to be settling in. I found him at a cafe trying coffee. [Nasty stuff, bitter. Sokie had mentioned giving her a special brew, better than what she could buy. Then there's yelling, if Mtt had heard Jean's voice he'd recgnoise it. The audio cuts off at that, she's going to go investigate.]

OOH, A COFFEE FAN! [She didn't say that!] YES, I LIKE COFFEE MYSELF. IT HAS A GOOD FLAVOR. SO STRONG, FOR BEING SCARCELY ANY CALORIES! NOT THAT A ROBOT WITH A FIGURE LIKE MINE NEEDS TO BE COUNTING, HA-HA.

[A pause. He heard Jean yelling while he was talking, and only realizes belatedly that Mikasa's end of things has cut out.]

HM. I WONDER.

[He wonders a lot of things. What that was about... if Jean would ever return. What Mikasa feels about his presence here. If she would be sad to lose him. Of course she would be...

He wonders if Jean and Mikasa would ever learn about Eren, and what Jean's relationship with Eren is like.]
