[Rather than a person, this video opens on an image from the Underground - heavily infected veins through the earth where the Red Death algae seems to begin, and the signs of a less virulent pink moss beyond if one looks closely enough at the image.]

So I know everyone down here is gonna be pretty busy trying to figure out how to deal with this Red Death problem, but it looks like these infected veins are a big part of it and I want to try to deal with them. If we can purge them kinda like that leyline through the forest a few months ago, I think it'd help, but I'll need a lot more Witches than just me and we'll also need Monsters to back us up while we work. Don't worry if you're new, I did this in my first month here, just let me know and I can show you how to do it. It's pretty much about pushing clean magic in to force the infection out, so even someone who's recently gotten in touch with their magic can throw in with us and it'll make a bigger difference the more people we can get together!

[Momo finally turns the camera on himself, looking pretty serious for him but also with...some kind of weird semi-transparent pink bubble shield over his mouth and nose. The joys of trying to bash together a consistent anti-spore shielding spell through trial and error.] I'm sending a message to the Matriarch too and I hope we can get some locals, but anyone who can help, whether you need a bit of guidance on it or not, is totally welcome! This is gonna be a big job, but I think it'd really help to strike at the source of the problem, even if you can only be here for a little while. Every bit would count. If you've got any questions before you come, I can answer them here, otherwise we can organise things when you get down here! I'll be in the circled tunnel.

It's essentially more of a marker of where the tunnel entrances are relative to other tunnels and what edge of the city they're on, but it's at least enough to position oneself.]

The main thing to know is that this is targeted particularly around where the Red Death begins in the tunnels since purging entire tunnels wouldn't be possible in this amount of time.]]

That's hair dye. Though I guess if I did start going white I could just dye the other half of my hair and nobody would ever know!

[It'd be a whole lot easier dyeing white hair black than bleaching black hair to white, too.]

[Two-toned hair is surprisingly rare in Momo's world considering they have all the other wild hair colour options.]

It is! I started dyeing it when I became an idol because plain black was a little bit too stark of a contrast to Yuki, I guess. He's got a cool lighter silver streak, so even if I didn't have something like that naturally I thought it would be nice to do something similar with my hair.

Oh wow...I had no idea! I figured it was natural since it's not that strange from hair in my world.

Thanks! I guess it's not so weird an idea in my world since, like I said, Yuki has a natural streak of a different colour, but in my case I'm being a sneaky faker...how terrible, right?

[He says that last bit in an comedic overdramatic tone and makes an exaggerated swooning sort of motion, as if he absolutely cannot believe how clearly Terrible he is for not mentioning his frosting is artificial. Though he honestly doesn't know how his fans would react back home since he's kept it dyed as long as he's been in the public eye.]

I-If dying your hair secretly is considered terrible...I'm starting to think idols have more restrictions than my friend who joined the clergy.

I don't think it'd be that big a deal that it was dyed, people are just used to seeing me a particular way. So if I let it grow out, some people might get sad.

[Some idols more blatantly dye their hair and that tends to not be the problem so much as changing their image radically if they choose to change it back.]

So what if they get sad? Isn't music about self-expression?

[Elliot's remark reminds him so much of what he's heard anecdotally about Yuki from back in the day (since Yuki was always...remarkably nice to Momo, honestly) that he can't help but laugh.]

It is, and we always put our feelings into our music. But because idols are marketed for more than just music, we do have to think about how our fans might react to stuff like appearance and personality. For some people, they might just exaggerate their normal personality or look and act pretty normal and just keep negative feelings out of it. Others might have a whole stage persona they use for idol work. It's one of the distinctions of being an idol rather than just a musician, that we have to consider our fans' feelings on stuff like that.

[For Elliot, who gets resentful when people tell him what to do/think? That whole concept Momo is explaining sounds like a downright nightmare scenario to him.]

That sounds...

[He pauses because honestly, he doesn't want to hurt Momo's feelings but that sounds SO wrong to him.]

I don't think I'd do well as an idol.

[Momo's been in the job long enough to know the flaws, and he's definitely had people here be extremely blunt about thinking it's screwed up, so he's hard pressed not to laugh again at Elliot's careful choice of wording.]

It's not a job for everyone, for sure. Even some of my coworkers and juniors had pretty rough starts adjusting to the expectations, and they chose this work. [Like certain silver-haired, shamelessly blunt people he could mention.] But the downsides definitely aren't a dealbreaker for me, so I enjoy it a lot.

[Whew, he seemed to have taken in in stride. Momo sounds confident about what he wants to do. And even if Elliot has his own misgivings about what he hears...who is he to try to tell Momo how to live his life?]

Right. As long as you're happy doing it and find it fulfilling, that's what matters.

Right! And that goes for any job. It's always great to see people working on something they're passionate about.

[He grins, that typical optimism of his shining through. It's a sad fact that not everyone gets that kind of opportunity, but it's always nice to see when it does happen.]
