[Rather than a person, this video opens on an image from the Underground - heavily infected veins through the earth where the Red Death algae seems to begin, and the signs of a less virulent pink moss beyond if one looks closely enough at the image.]

So I know everyone down here is gonna be pretty busy trying to figure out how to deal with this Red Death problem, but it looks like these infected veins are a big part of it and I want to try to deal with them. If we can purge them kinda like that leyline through the forest a few months ago, I think it'd help, but I'll need a lot more Witches than just me and we'll also need Monsters to back us up while we work. Don't worry if you're new, I did this in my first month here, just let me know and I can show you how to do it. It's pretty much about pushing clean magic in to force the infection out, so even someone who's recently gotten in touch with their magic can throw in with us and it'll make a bigger difference the more people we can get together!

[Momo finally turns the camera on himself, looking pretty serious for him but also with...some kind of weird semi-transparent pink bubble shield over his mouth and nose. The joys of trying to bash together a consistent anti-spore shielding spell through trial and error.] I'm sending a message to the Matriarch too and I hope we can get some locals, but anyone who can help, whether you need a bit of guidance on it or not, is totally welcome! This is gonna be a big job, but I think it'd really help to strike at the source of the problem, even if you can only be here for a little while. Every bit would count. If you've got any questions before you come, I can answer them here, otherwise we can organise things when you get down here! I'll be in the circled tunnel.

[Attached to the post is a hand-drawn, seemingly recent "map" with the problem tunnels marked in red, all smaller ones, plus one in a fairly central position circled. It's essentially more of a marker of where the tunnel entrances are relative to other tunnels and what edge of the city they're on, but it's at least enough to position oneself.]

You can also let me know OOC if your character would be involved so I have an idea of what kind of numbers he'd end up with, via Plurk/PM/game Discord depending on your pref. The main thing to know is that this is targeted particularly around where the Red Death begins in the tunnels since purging entire tunnels wouldn't be possible in this amount of time.]]

[Momo grins cheerily at Mogget and waves. Momo's own bed would be a hard steal since Yuki also uses it and the man sleeps in like a nocturnal creature and seeks out warmth like a reptile, but there's an unused bed in the spare room that would be very easily claimed by catkind.] You could call it a brute force method - we basically need Witches who can at least tap into their magic to direct as much as they can through these veins. [He turns the camera so he can point out a large infected vein along the tunnel wall, marking its path with his finger while he remains several metres away for safety.]

Putting enough clean magic into these kinds of infections "purges" them out, so numbers are the big thing here rather than experience or anything like that. Though I gotta wonder whether you've been flexing teleportation or something a bit, since that looks like my spare bed.

Interesting. Have you examined the potential dangers? One does not simply flush sewage from a pipe with clean water.

[No- the sewage has to go somewhere. Things don't disappear, they only get displaced. At least, that's his experience of it.

He twists his head around in that almost owl-like way that cats can often achieve and looks back over the bed he's occupying. What comes out next is a purr with words wrapped around it.]

I think it's more of a germs and antibiotics kinda deal...but the forest path it was first done on has pretty much been a case study, since it was a couple months ago and we've been able to see the progress since then. There hasn't been any backlash in that area that I've heard of or seen when I followed up on it, so if there's any problem it's either somewhere we don't know about it yet which would have to make it pretty far out, or long-term and it should show up in that forest before it does down here.

[So in theory they'd have some amount of warning and preparation time for a problem cropping up down here, if that was how it worked.

Mogget's attitude on the bed theft gets a laugh out of him, though.] Hey, as long as you don't leave anything open on your way out. Gotta make sure my darling is safe while I'm out of the city and all.

[Interesting, indeed. He definitely wants to be involved with whatever Momo is planning, if only to observe if he decides it looks like too much of a risk to be directly connected to.]

I'll be there when you need me. [He decides, stretching out on the bed.]

And I left nothing open on my way in. I shall leave nothing open on my way out, either. I do have manners.

Well, I'll be starting to set up now, but we'll probably be at it for a while, so there's no need to rush. [There's a touch of a joke in those last few words, because there's very little he could imagine would make Mogget rush.]

That's fine, then. I'm just used to back home where someone sneaking into my house would probably mean they busted something on the way in... [Mundane worlds and all.]

[The cat gives a little nod. He will be there when he's needed, that statement being far more enigmatic than it sounds, and he moves on to the topic of him being somehow inside Momo's house with ease.]

Would you normally have cats 'busting' into your house?

[Cats, being the creatures of chaos that they are with their apparent intent to knock everything that they can from every flat surface... do not tend to break windows or locks on their way into a building, after all.]

I'm sure I don't need to remind you that I'm not capable of taking a human form here.

Well, no, but I normally live in a high-rise apartment, so anything that wanted to bust in would have to scale some few dozen floors of the building or get through however many layers of security. [Tokyo high-rises aren't as tall as those in other major cities because earthquakes, but they're more than tall enough to make random break-ins not really feasible. Especially when he lives in a rich person one with ridiculously tight security.]

Hey, I don't know what kind of magic you're learning. Maybe you're gonna learn transmutation on the sly and surprise me one of these days! [He winks conspiratorially. He'd already figured from the collar business when they first met that Mogget's true form wasn't the cat one, but it does make him wonder what he'd look like as a human.]
