[ Hello there, network! It's a face that many of you haven't seen for awhile, he thinks. This time, there's no chaos attached to this post. ]
Hard to believe it's been a year here. Is this the sort of anniversary someone celebrates? It's my 'Abducted to a strange planet' anniversary. Maybe I'll get someone [ ahem ] to make a cake or something. Castella is my favorite, by the way.
[ He's not going to push his luck. ]
So those who have been here for awhile, what have you learned since arriving? If you're ... newer, what do you hope to learn?
Personally, I learned that despite monsters being a big thing: deer with fingers are still a novelty. Oh, and pet ownership is still weird to me. I don't think it'll ever not be weird.
[ There's a small quirk of the corner of his mouth, and the slightest, small smile when he makes the offer. It's reminiscent of what he posted almost a year ago. Just way more -- polite. ]
That being said - I am going to give the same opportunity that I gave when I first arrived:
I am not a Monster. I am a deer who happens to be a witch. I never saw a human before getting here. And I have ten fingers and five toes.
And, if you have any questions, it's okay to ask, I promise. I don't bite. No question is too weird at this point, I think.

You lost an arm?
And - I guess, I just don't want anyone to think too hard about how it ended up this way. After all, it wasn't some horrible disaster, I wasn't born like this. There is no tragedy associated with this.
It just was, and I am not any worse for it.
[ in fact, he's a lot better for it and it changed him at his core, but that's not for someone he's just met ]

Huh ok! I still feel like any way someone loses somethign like a foot is kind of a big thing but i also definitely respect keeping the past in the past and just moving forward! Thats pretty cool of you, you sound strong
no subject
[ huh - and sorry gon, the 'my friend ate it' conversation happens after a couple chats. but being called strong? yeah, he kinda likes that... ]
Thanks. I mean, it's better to just move on. No use in not making progress.

Yeah, that's true!! I dont blame people for not thinking that way but I love meeting people with that kind of attitude! Oh hm but now that I think about it
Your a deer, right? I guess it makes sense you might think that way.... somehow....
[Gon's gut tells him so; at the moment, he's furrowing his brows trying to articulate exactly why he feels that way.]

I am. Antlers and all. How do you mean? I can make assumptions that it's related to being common prey for carnivores. And, I mean, it's not entirely untrue even where I'm from.
no subject
But maybe it's unfair to think a carnivore species WOULDN'T be resilient..... they have plenty of their own threats, but generally not nearly as many as prey animals face on a day to day basis. from my perspective anyways, given that our worlds are different
no subject
But you're right, our worlds are different. I suppose in your world, or in worlds with humans - it would be humans with power and those without.
no subject
Mhm yeah basically! And power has many forms. The world is pretty chaotic feeling but nature is like that too... um meaning like the parts of the world where theres no humans and theres only animals but theyre not animals like youre an animals theyre animals like animals in this world are animals

Babies from your world sound like they're really cute!! I think im better with the baby animals like the ones from this world than humanoid babies though.... maybe
[Gon's realizing he's never actually interacted with a baby. wild. of all the crazy things he's experienced, he's never hung out with an infant]
