Got a question.
Anyone around that had a chronic health condition or illness back home?
Did it clear up when you got here or is it still affecting you?
Asking for myself.

Are you alright? What brings that question?

Where I'm from, everyone is infected with nanomachines. They're used to track us and keep everyone under control.
And in some rare cases, they can cause death. But not intentionally.

I... had no idea you were subjected to that. Actually, wouldn't that be rendered useless now that your body has changed? [ and she died, he'd add, but that's not necessary - they both know. ]

You'd think they would be, but I'd like to be 100% sure, you know?

[How does one explain this?]
I was dying, if I had to put it simply. My body shutting down little by little until...[Until he fell asleep and didn't wake up.] The only symptom I showed was exhaustion.

[It led to his last moments actually being happy, believe it or not. He held out and he was glad for it.]
Was there a reason you wanted to know about this sort of thing? Is something still effecting you?

If something was gonna happen to me, it probably should've happened by now.

They're on top of the world with nobody to challenge them.
How do you hold on to that power?
By taking it away from everyone else.
By reminding everyone of who's in charge, and that they know what you're doing. Always.

[That... sounded straight out of some dystopian novel. But he supposed given this place was grabbing people from all over time and space and realities and even death, he shouldn't be so surprised.]
For what it's worth, I'm sorry. I'm glad they don't seem to have a hold on you here though.

For starters, I can actually live comfortably and not have to worry about paying a $10,000 monthly rent.
[And that wasn't a typo, just now.]

I keep feeling like I'm doing something wrong and... shouldn't have all this extra money.

[ Good thing no one got hurt or else he'd be in a lot more trouble. ]
