[It's somewhere around mid-morning on full moon day when this post goes up, Momo doing his best to look somewhat professional-ish while obviously sitting himself half up in bed with his head resting on one curled hand. He looks extremely awake and restless like he's been wanting to get up for a while, but the suspiciously tentacle-looking charcoal grey thing barely in frame wrapped around his waist is probably a giveaway as to why he's having to make the post from this position.]

I've been thinking about this for a little while, but with everyone sharing information on here about stuff that's happened before some people arrived or what Monster changes to expect and so on, has anyone tried to get that kind of "relevant to everyone" information into one place? I was originally thinking about the collective dreams we kept having, since those seem to be important but it's kinda hard to get details on the ones that happened before you arrived unless you know who to ask. But I've also talked to certain Monsters who seem to have had real trouble researching their Monster type, and having a proper resource with changes or abilities that don't come up in books as often seems like it could be really useful for people going through that.

[As he talks, another tentacle creeps into frame and tries to poke at his face. Without even faltering in his speech, he pushes it right back out of frame with one red-nailed finger. And then flicks another one that barely even makes it past the edge of the frame before recoiling at the reprimand.]

So I'm wondering what people think about trying to put together more information in one collected place like that! I think it could really help some people out, but it'd take a lot of work to put together, so it'd be good to know whether there's interest in both having it and helping out with it. Especially with Monster details some people might not know until they meet someone who's gone through that change already, since that's probably a little easier to gather...like, if you're a Monster, what was the thing that surprised you most about your change? Or was there anything you couldn't find out about before it happened? That question goes for Witches living with Monsters if you got blindsided by something too!

[There's a sound of movement and a grumble that sounds something along the lines of "sleep", as a human arm with blue nails drapes itself over Momo's side. Momo turns his head with an all too sunny smile.]

Ah, darling, are you awake enough to let me out of bed now?

[Silence. Momo turns back to the Watch screen with a worryingly innocent grin that reveals his long canines.]

Well, I guess I'm answering from here...and you know, it's so much easier to have a conversation like this over video or audio call! Just make sure you speak up nice and loud, I think being stuck in bed this long has done something to my ears.

[He says that in a very deliberate, faux worried tone, winking as he mimes clearing his ear with a pinky. Sure, it's an actual serious inquiry, but might as well make a petty attempt at gaining freedom by making sleep impossible.]

I can already open jars, though... [And it's not like he's ever likely to be inside a jar, unless he has a repeat of that basement transformation last month that made him tiny.

In any case, Mikasa's hesitance makes him think she might be embarrassed, so he can't help but poke a little fun.] Living together and dating are two different things, silly! We just lived together back then because we were broke, and then we got our own places when we could afford it. Though I still stayed over at Yuki's a ton! But here we don't have to worry about people expecting us not to be in a relationship, so why would we worry about living together again either?

[stopfen]

[It's a shame she refused to use video. Had he seen her flat, judging stare enough times to be able know it was there even though he couldn't see her.

Because that's what he's getting.

But she still hesitates. Not her best topic, and she was still unsure what to make of Mettaton's 'sex sent me to the ER' incident.]

And?.. you can only afford one bed?

[She was bad at these things, but there was cuddles happening. Even she wasn't that bad.]

[Momo's tone shifts to something a little bit exaggeratedly confused as he replies, because on one hand he knows Mikasa might be having trouble figuring things out with their comparative differences in experience. But on the other, he can't help but tease a bit.]

No? I have a spare bedroom, since Lio lives on the roof...have you never seen a couple sharing a bed before? We couldn't date back home, but there's nothing stopping us here, you know.

[He has a sneaking suspicion of what she's reading into this scenario, and he is...going to do absolutely nothing to disabuse her of that notion even if it's less accurate than he would like.]

[stopfen]

A couple...So you are dating then. [Bruh...If this was in person she'd be shrugging. That had been what she'd been getting at.]

Did I not mention that...? We started a few days after Yuki arrived, so back at the end of that visiting circus type thing in Juril where the spell backfired.

[It's been about two months, and it somehow feels like both a longer and shorter time than that after so much slow burn buildup beforehand.]

[stopfen]

I don't remember you saying that... [But then again. Yuki had arrived quite a while back now. But she sighs.] ...With how people are here, I'm not sure who is a couple and who isn't.

[Some people be near married, others be dating five people. But as long as they all knew.]

[In her defense, it was probably hard to tell either way considering how little Momo's terminology towards Yuki changed. Her follow-up gets a laugh out of him, though.]

Is this about people who are sleeping around and stuff against people who are committed, or are there some harems going on that I don't know about?

[stopfen]

No... [It was a lot.] People talk about...that stuff a lot more here. But not the people. [It's a bit mumbly and awkward. People talked about sex and private things pretty often, she'd mentioned that before. But not the people...Something she was grateful for to some extent. Like, she didn't need to know that Mettaton fucked, but she did anyway.]

It was a lot easier back home. People talked about getting married there... [That made it a lot easier to know what was going on there. Shame Franz and Hannah...didn't live that long.]

Hmm, I guess most Mirrorbound wouldn't really be thinking about that here so much...there'd probably be less point getting married here and then someone disappearing back home or something. I've only seen one actual marriage done and I think they were planning on doing it back home too.

[He knows there's the occasional person who doesn't really want to leave, but he thinks most of them aren't the types to seek marriage either. WWX is about the only exception off the top of his head.]

Though I guess I'm not one to talk about it either way. [He'd likely feel too rushed actually marrying here, but if it was with Yuki they can't technically do it back home either.]

[stopfen]

Yeah... I know who you mean. They didn't seem bothered by the idea of one going home again. [Mikasa wasn't even sure about how she felt about going home. She knew she had to, but...] That's one thing people keep telling me. That I should do stuff I can't do back home.

[Make good memories. Though it seemed pointless still if she'd forget again.]

Well, yeah. The way I see it, why not take the opportunity while you're here? Whether you remember it or not, it might be something you never have the chance to do again, so it just seems to me like it's best to seize the day.

[Momo's also just the type who applies seize the day type philosophies to everything, but he really can't see why someone wouldn't take advantage of an opportunity like this.]

[stopfen]

[There's a hum. It's humbling hearing those words from someone who...didn't seem like as much of a party fan as the others had.]

...It still seems strange. Doing that with what was happening back home.

[And she's mumbling again. Thinking instead of talking.] And that's what you're doing... When I asked them. One of them mentioned trying to stay here...

Yeah, it's probably different for people who want to try and stay here anyway. But even though you've got a lot going on back home, it's not as if you can do anything about it while you're here, right? [He understands why she'd still feel weighed down by it, but at the same time, it doesn't feel right to him to be chained down because of it the whole time she's here.]

So if there's any time that it'd be okay to take a bit of a break and try some new things, it's now while you can. Lingering on what's happening back home when you can't change it from here and you have no idea when you'll be back there is going to get to you.

I know. It's just...hard to not think about it. Even if I'll forget. [He was right. Very right, and she already knew.]

There's not been much else to do though, with my leg... [She was limited in what she could do. She could knit and sew but...That got boring after the first week.]

What happened to it...? I wouldn't have thought there was much a healer couldn't do something about here, short of losing it. [Which he's going to assume didn't happen and cross his fingers he's right to do so instead of just having been accidentally insensitive.]

Though I guess there were still people recovering from that Rathmore stuff when I got here. [So some wounds must have a bit more staying power than what he usually sees joining the Outer City healing teams.]

[stopfen]

It got stabbed. [Just you know, casually.] They can heal some of it, but the shell I have... They can't force it to grow quicker. It's not really...something that can heal. Because it's a shell. [Could he see her awkward shrugging as she tried to explain. The shell was a part of her, but it was more like hair really. Something that wasn't alive enough to be healed. So she was stuck with a partially open wound for a bit. Lovely.]

...Yeah. From what I got told those guys knew magic that made it harder to heal.

Oh, right, the chitin...that's a shame, that'd probably be another magic class entirely. [If anyone's even considered spells to regrow something non-living like that. He can't think of a whole lot of circumstances it'd be useful for, if it's something at least somewhat organic and not just repairing metals or something.]

That makes sense, considering what their aims were. Real screwed up thing to put their magic towards, but I guess there's always people who just want to see others suffer.

[stopfen]

Maybe... [She wasn't very enthusiastic there.]

It does. If they were taking parts off of people like teeth and claws, it makes sense they wouldn't want those coming back. [They wouldn't be able to earn money by selling them, but it'd take away a lot of monsters' weapons.]

[yesdoubt]

Yeah, there's that too, I was thinking more about the torture potential. [Just...well, not casually, but his tone remains about the same level of serious the whole way through.]

Glad there hasn't been anyone else getting the same ideas since then, at least. Even if it's not exactly been peaceful either, but I'll take the small victories.

[stopfen]

I guess...But wouldn't you want to be able to heal it. So they don't die. [What a conversation for Yuki to maybe wake up to. But there's an unamused grunt from Mikasa.]

Maybe that excution scared the others off. That's how it happened back home.

Depends how good they are at it. They might not need to heal anything to keep someone alive. [Momo is 99% sure Yuki is still safely asleep, otherwise he probably wouldn't be having this conversation. Even now that Yuki is aware Momo is a bit messed up, he doesn't tend to show it off in front of him unless he has to.]

That's usually how making an example of someone works. A lot of countries in my world banned the death penalty, but there are still ways to punish something hard enough that nobody else is going to want to try it.

So if they were doing that stuff like they would back home... [Where they had to keep the prisoner alive to get the info. Where they'd learnt Commander Hange and Capitan Runt were very good at it.]

We have that. [Would Momo really be surprised by that though?] It doesn't happen often. Or there'd be a revolt. Back during the coup a few years ago a lot of the nobility were taken in... I'm not sure what the Commander-in-Chief did, but the rest handed their assets over and agreed to live under house arrest.

[All she knew there, is it had something to do with a chair. And that he'd wanted to do the same to Eren.]

Oh yeah, we've definitely had violent deathy revolts in the past, and the death penalty used to be widespread too, so I'd be surprised if your world didn't have it. [Good old humans doing their awful human things regardless of what world it was in.]

Some people still go the causing deaths to make their point route, but they're the kinds of people a law was never going to stop in the first place.

[She hums, nodding. One day she might use video instead of text or audio.]

I think even the nicest world would have something like that. [The world she was from might have been more brutal in some ways, that was only because other worlds had gotten more...efficient. Their talk of weaponry was a testament to that.] Even if the police weren't like they were where I'm from. There'd always be someone who wants to cause trouble.

Well, yeah, people are like that. [Momo's seen too many garbage people in his time to be particularly optimistic about that sort of thing, he's just not usually quite as bland about it.]

But that's kind of a depressing topic. Maybe it's a sign I should get back to proper waking duties?

[Unseen, he reaches back to try and poke Yuki in the side, to no avail.]
