Warnings: Mentions of sex & pregnancy, b/c I know that makes some people Uncomfy.

So it's pretty obvious that being here changes people in ways that can sometimes be hard to expect, what with all the magic and monstrous traits but does anyone know if there are impacts on other biological functions?

Like...

Well.

[God, how do they say this without giving up the ghost entirely. They can't just come out and SAY things. They would rather die.]

Does being undead impact what vampires are capable of? Do the animalistic traits of most other monsters impact other physical aspects besides what's visible? Turning into a monster is basically like going through some bizarro puberty so, like. What's up with that?

Basically I'm asking if monsters can get pregnant or do they become infertile like some of the hybrids that exist in real life - obviously native ones aren't but does being something else before change that?

[Now it's time to go hide in shame and embarrassment and try not to think about the turn their life has taken.]

[This was.... quite the question.]

Dear Cherrypit,

Is there a particular reason why you are worried over such a matter? I have resided in this town for nearly a year, and this is the first conversation I have seen or heard on the subject.

Given our uncertain circumstances, I would certainly HOPE that the non-native residents like ourselves are... infertile, as you say. It would be far too difficult and complex if that weren't so.

GOODNESS.

Apologies. I did NOT wish to intrude on such matters!

Are you faring well otherwise?

That is quite good to hear. Perhaps it is like Sir Everett's homeland, in that we must desire a child before one is conceived. The bigger concern here is that your partner did not consider your welfare, my...

Lady?

My apologies, I find that I do not know how to address you. By name and face, I had thought you were a man.

Begging your pardon once again, as that was crass. Your response took me by surprise, as this is not a concept that I have heard of before.

[Men and women partnering with people of the same sex over the other? That was fair, and people had a right to be themselves. Perhaps matters were different elsewhere, but within the gilded walls of noble society, this was News.]

Truly, that does add a layer of complexity here, as you are absolutely correct that the usual standards will not work.

This is something that must be rectified.

My name is Lorenz Hellman Gloucester. I am an employee at Sir Everett's teashop, DiplomaTea, but I am also a writer by hobby. This latter part is not a subject I mention often, but this particular... lacking in language, shall we call it? Is now blatantly evident and quite perplexing.

Would you allow me the honor of trying to find a form of address for you?

What shall we use in the meantime? Captain?

That's terrible!

Your identity is your own, and not something that another should judge!

But very well, Captain. That will likely become a mouthful to say in ordinary conversation, until we unearth whatever is equivalent to 'Sir' or 'Ma'am' that we can use, but it shall more than suffice in the meanwile. 'Ser' could perhaps be doable? That is somewhat archaic, even in my own homeland.

As I said, this is a rather archaic turn of phrase that we shall need to investigate, if you so choose.

In the meanwhile, until is a title you feel comfortable with, Captain is more than easy to use. Whatever you feel is best, truly.
