LONELY BOND CLUB AD (video | un: albhed)
Name: Rikku (un: albhed)
Date: 9/11
Format: Video
[A young, blonde teenager can be seen on the screen. She's dressed up--the better to impress people--and gives a smile and a wave before she starts in with her spiel.]
Hi everyone! I'm Rikku, and I've been here for a couple of months now. I'm a witch, which is taking some getting used to, but that's not the point of this post.
The other witches say that I'll explode if I don't find someone, and people I know have confirmed it. I really don't want that to happen, you know? It sounds painful and awful, and other people could get hurt too.
Sooooo... are there any monsters out there looking for a bondmate? Or anyone out there with advice on how to find a good one?
I promise I'll be a good bondmate! I'm loyal and friendly and I'll even help you out with things! I'm good with my hands and can help you build or fix whatever you have around the house. I can kind of cook. I'm good with kids. I can braid your hair if you're into that kind of thing.
[She pauses, scratching her chin as she thinks of other selling points and comes up with nothing.]
Um, if you have any questions or want to verify anything I just said, you can always ask my housemates Lighting and Karin and Ann. They're really nice and will be honest with you.
[Nailed it. Hopefully this works!]

[ Zack is a monster in need of a bond with a witch, which doesn't mean he's actually responding to the ad. For all that he's quick to make friends, that doesn't mean he's going to be open to doing that with someone he's spoken to all of once. Rikku seems... a lot more blasé about the whole thing.
Then again, at her age? He'd have been the exact same way. He's a bit less trusting these days. ]
At least for now, you could always bond with one of your housemates. [ All who he's met, come to think of it! What a household. ] I know they're witches too, but if any of them are bonded to monsters, some of that energy will pass along your bond. It should hold you over for now, anyway.
[ That's what he did with Cloud, which is how he even knows any of this. But he's happy to pass the information along to someone in his same predicament. ]

[She listens to his advice, her face slowly lighting up as he explains the mechanics of Bonding a bit more thoroughly than the lesson she half-paid-attention-to from the witches.]
That's a great idea! I don't want to mooch full-time, but if I can't find someone at least I know I'll be safe. Plus, Karin is a monster, so that's even better.
I'm so glad I put up this post! I'm learning a lot.
[Which is good, because clearly she hasn't put a lot of thought into bonding aside from 'I need one.' Any and all help is appreciated.]

Hey, I'm glad to help. There's a lot to keep track of with this bonding stuff, it can get pretty confusing. I still don't know all the ins and outs. Thankfully, I have a friend from home who was able to walk me through a lot of it.
[ There's something else about Rikku's ad that had struck him as odd, so Zack decides to clarify there as well. ]
By the way, when you're bonded to someone, it's not like you've gotta live with them or do things for them or anything. You just end up feeling what they feel and you can tell when they're in danger, that kinda thing. It can be platonic, too!

[And she means that sincerely--she would give so much to have a familiar face here to help, but ultimately she's been very lucky to have friends and acquaintances who are willing to reach out. Cooperation is certainly better than competition in this case.
At the latter revelation, Rikku's eyes go wide. It's clear that the thought of a platonic bond had not occurred to her whatsoever.]
Wow, really? If I had known that, I could have talked to Karin or something about it. I just figured it would have been weird because she's more like a big sister than a wife...
I should talk to you more often! You really know your stuff.

Now he's in the position where someone who's his junior thinks he's got his life in order way more than he does. Well, better than the other way around, probably. ]
Yeah, I'd see how your roommates feel! That might be the easiest way. But if you want to find someone you're interested in romantically, that's fair too.
[ She's certainly not the only teenager among the Mirrorbound. Maybe her soulmate's out there somewhere! ]

Plus, he's been really nice about it. Not everyone else has.
At that last part, Rikku lights up a bit.]
We'll see who's out there! It would be really nice to find someone like that, even if it's not right away.

Well... I guess the one thing I will say with that is that you're probably better off just letting it happen naturally. If you meet someone you like, just see where it ends up going.

Will do! Thanks, Zack! I really appreciate all your help.
