Hi everyone! I'm Rikku, and I've been here for a couple of months now. I'm a witch, which is taking some getting used to, but that's not the point of this post.

The other witches say that I'll explode if I don't find someone, and people I know have confirmed it. I really don't want that to happen, you know? It sounds painful and awful, and other people could get hurt too.

Sooooo... are there any monsters out there looking for a bondmate? Or anyone out there with advice on how to find a good one?

I promise I'll be a good bondmate! I'm loyal and friendly and I'll even help you out with things! I'm good with my hands and can help you build or fix whatever you have around the house. I can kind of cook. I'm good with kids. I can braid your hair if you're into that kind of thing.

[She pauses, scratching her chin as she thinks of other selling points and comes up with nothing.]

Um, if you have any questions or want to verify anything I just said, you can always ask my housemates Lighting and Karin and Ann. They're really nice and will be honest with you.

I am, unfortunately, not currently looking. However, my bond was one of convenience. Even so the person I am bonded to has become a friend over our time together.

I would recommend simply asking and seeing if you and your monster companion can get along.

Finding a partner adequate to one's needs is simple. It is a task even the most dour can accomplish, so matchmaking should be simple for a bright personality such as yours. My suggestion is focus your attention on what comes after the ceremony.

That is where it becomes difficult.

[ Zack is a monster in need of a bond with a witch, which doesn't mean he's actually responding to the ad. For all that he's quick to make friends, that doesn't mean he's going to be open to doing that with someone he's spoken to all of once. Rikku seems... a lot more blasé about the whole thing.

Then again, at her age? He'd have been the exact same way. He's a bit less trusting these days. ]

At least for now, you could always bond with one of your housemates. [ All who he's met, come to think of it! What a household. ] I know they're witches too, but if any of them are bonded to monsters, some of that energy will pass along your bond. It should hold you over for now, anyway.

[ That's what he did with Cloud, which is how he even knows any of this. But he's happy to pass the information along to someone in his same predicament. ]

That's a great idea! I don't want to mooch full-time, but if I can't find someone at least I know I'll be safe. Plus, Karin is a monster, so that's even better.

I'm so glad I put up this post! I'm learning a lot.

It does! That's why I'm trying to take care of this bond thing before it happens. And I know it's not good for monsters to not have a bond, either.
