Hello everyone!

My name's Elliot Craig, and I'm to announced that starting today, I'm offering music lessons through my business, VII Notes! So if you've ever wanted to learn a music instrument, now's the perfect time! Music can be a great tool to help you get through stressful time. And for you witches, it can be a pretty good channeling tool for magic!

Aha, calling me a full out wizard would probably be an overstatement.

But yeah. I studied both.

I mean, a wizard by definition is someone that studies magic, yeah?

Don't sell yourself short!

Haha, I suppose, but...most of what I learned was pretty common magic. They teach it in school. It's not like I studied the rarer styles like other people I know have.

So really calling me a wizard is like calling me a mechanic because I know how to change a vehicle tire.

I mean, I'd do that too. I'm clueless with anything that isn't clockwork or a thopter. And this place is fresh out of those.

Oh that's...

What's a thopter?

[He doesn't know, maybe it's something super advanced...]

A flying machine with rotors.

[It's a clockwork helicopter.]

Oh. So an airship?

Knowing how to work one of those IS impressive

Not quite that big. A thopter's meant for 2 or 3 people.

Mom is an inventor. So was dad.

[fiddlestick]

Okay so, little airship. It's still impressive.

Must've been really something to grow up in a house with two inventors.

Yes. It was very noisy. Dangerous, too.

Always something clanging away. And because they weren't state sanctioned, they could potentially get arrested.

[fiddlestick]

Huh? You had to be sanctioned by the government to invent things?

[fieryimpulse]

Yeah.

The government on Kaladesh is really hierarchical and stratified. Everything has some sort of bureaucratic nonsense tied to it.

[fiddlestick]

Oh. Sounds a little stifling.

[Also sounds like something certain people back home would dream of, but he rather not talk too much about that]

Extremely.

That's why mom rebelled. It was big, but those rules are gone now.

[fiddlestick]

Wow, your mom must be pretty tough.

I'm glad though. I don't think I'd deal very well with my music being government regulated, so I could imagine how tough it'd be for inventors.

[fieryimpulse]

She's something else.

Just like home. I won't bore you much with that, but Kaladesh is a strange place. It's weird to think of a place as advanced as this world as being somewhat primitive given some of the other places I've been, but there's a lot lacking here.

Sounds like it.

Aha, yeah. It sounds like everyone is coming in at very different levels of technology knowledge. My own world is just a little ahead of this place, so the difference isn't too bad on that end.

[fieryimpulse]

That's very true.

No? I'm from Zemuria. Erebonia, specifically.

[fieryimpulse]

Predictably, I've never heard of it.

Haha. And predictably, I'm not surprised.
