[On the afternoon of the 1st, a disgruntled post goes up on the network.]
Did you know some moths produce silk from their salivary glands? Because I didn't until after I spat out a bunch of string this morning.
[He didn't make that connection immediately, mind you; after the initial utter bafflement, he took the time to go do more research on Fae and the insects they resemble. Nerd.]
Someone let me know if there's a market for organic fae silk. And if you could invent some kind of google or wikipedia while you're at it, that would be appreciated.
[Do you know how LONG it takes to look through PHYSICAL BOOKS]

Although the store is small enough and she's close enough that she can call back to the dressing room after he's had time to change. ]
How is it?

It seems decent. What do you think? [He turns towards the mirror, taking another look and letting her see the outfit from different angles.] I'll need some suspenders or something.
no subject
...Suspenders?

Oh. They're thin strips of cloth with something like clips on each end, basically. [He motions with his hands as he speaks, from his waist up.] They go over your shoulders and hold onto the front and back of pants to keep them up. They'll probably have some, looking at the selection...
[He strides out to look—he didn't see any of the belts he's used to, but accessory sections are generally easy to find, and he'll demonstrate for her when he finds them. He might be hesitant about standing out in terms of fashion, but he doesn't feel shy about trying on outer garments in the open.]

Oh! So that's what they're called! I always wondered what these were. [ Which now has her pausing and squinting suspiciously at his pants. ] Do they really fall down without them?
no subject
If your hips aren't wide enough and the fit isn't tight enough, yeah. I don't think most people who wear pants like these have ones that fit them exactly, so it's just easier to wear something like this... I prefer belts, but these aren't too bad.
[He adjusts one of them at the shoulder, thoughtful. They're just something he'll have to get used to, but out of everything new he has to deal with, this is nothing. He wonders if they'll still work for later... but it's not like he can really know for sure how that'll work until any hypothetical appendages come in, so he files it away to consider later.]

I'm still not used to wearing pants at all, so I haven't noticed it as a problem yet. [ Granted, she didn't have much in the 'hips' department to speak of, but at least there was some there. ] I believe they always used belts back home, too. The men, I mean. Although the ones here are more ornate than ones I've seen before as well. [ This place seems to like putting buckles on everything, even when there didn't need to be any. ]

[If and when he gets more comfortable with the situation, he'd like to branch out into the local styles and see what suits him best, but that's all for another time. (He thinks this as if he does not have an overabundance of time, but is trying very hard to fill it with more useful, practical things.)]
What are you used to wearing?
no subject
Ah, well, the robes we wore were of a much different style than what's found here. They're called 'hanbok' in my lands, and tend to be much more layered than what people wear here. More ornate and colorful, as well.
no subject
[The term is unfamiliar to him, but he tries to remember it all the same. Yona definitely seems like she comes from a more... traditional place? So it makes some sense to him that something robe-like would be common where she's from. He tends to think of more form-fitting clothes as comparatively modern.]
Do you miss wearing them here?
no subject
Oh, I still wear it from time to time. There's even a seamstress or two who's replicated something similar for me here. But the clothes they offer here are also very comfortable, so I don't mind switching between them. Even if there's some fashions I'm not quite daring enough to try just yet.
[ She's still not quite comfortable showing quite as much skin as some here, considering she's used to being fully cloaked from neck to ankle. Short skirts alone had had her questioning where the rest of it was. ]
no subject
Even better, then. It's always nice to have options. [More like it's incredibly demoralizing to not have them—but that's technically the same thing. He tries not to dwell on any jealousy that she hasn't had to worry about the clothes she's used to not fitting her anymore, but the mild smile on his face isn't quite as sincere as it could be.]
no subject
But she sees the way his smile slips, losing some of its honesty. She's not sure what thought caused that, but she reaches out to squeeze his arm all the same. ]
You'll always have options here, Ferran. They might not always be ones you expect or see coming, but I think you'll find more than you'd anticipate.
no subject
We'll see.
[But alas, if he's going to get clothes, he'll have to pay for them—so he steps back towards the dressing room to reacquire his current belongings, including his wallet.]
