[On the afternoon of the 1st, a disgruntled post goes up on the network.]
Did you know some moths produce silk from their salivary glands? Because I didn't until after I spat out a bunch of string this morning.
[He didn't make that connection immediately, mind you; after the initial utter bafflement, he took the time to go do more research on Fae and the insects they resemble. Nerd.]
Someone let me know if there's a market for organic fae silk. And if you could invent some kind of google or wikipedia while you're at it, that would be appreciated.
[Do you know how LONG it takes to look through PHYSICAL BOOKS]

I thought I felt some weird unexplained annoyance this morning...
everything okay over there?
audio
Ferran is courteous enough to switch to audio so she doesn't have to struggle! It's the least he can do.]
I'll have to try harder to make sure you don't have to deal with all of my problems on an emotional level.
[He's got a lot of them.......]
I'm fine. It's just... bizarre... is all.
audio forever
It's okay. I knew that would be part of the deal when I signed up to bond with you. [ No she didn't, but she's allowed to fudge it a little to make him feel better. ] You don't have to like... repress anything on my account.
[ He's got it hard enough turning into a moth man. ]
Is there anything I can do to help?
no subject
Besides that, he doesn't know what would help.]
Just letting me complain is enough, really. Nothing hurts or anything, so it's just a matter of... getting used to it, for now.
[He's likely to complain more soon enough, but for now:]
How are you faring?
no subject
Then consider me open for complaining whenever and wherever, about whatever! Not just monster-y stuff, but if somebody shoves you on the sidewalk or something, I'll listen to you rant about what an asshole they were!
[ As for how she's faring... She sighs and he might feel a certain undercurrent of unease through the bond, as much as she tries to keep a smile on her face and in her voice. ]
Oh, you know. I've been keeping busy. The Coven classes are... hard... but I'm trying my best! I want to get back in fighting form before anything really bad happens.

Unfortunate.]
It's entirely possible there might be, although I would proceed with caution if you plan to look into it in earnest. I think there are some people who consider various monster parts to be extremely valuable.
Either way, that sounds like a terrible way to start your morning. I'm sorry.
no subject
[he's already participated in some fairy dust trade i'm sorry he is not considering consequences right now]
I thought I knew what dry mouth meant before... at least it didn't taste like anything.
no subject
[She can't condemn him for using his resources to his advantage.]
Anyway, that's something. Was it painful at all?
no subject
[... well, it's a thought he'll put in the back of his mind for now. It's a bit early to be thinking about future investments.]
Thankfully, no. Just weird, like everything else has been so far. I just hope it stays that way.

[Signed a fae who's been here for a while and...is suffering. But not suffered that yet.]
no subject
I guess it depends. We're all different, right? I think I have moth-like traits, so it seems to match up.
[If that nightmare of Aefenglom where he had wings and the weird fluff growing on his back now is any indication, anyway.]

[A mantis... isn't the first thing he'd consider when thinking of a fairy, but the old folklore has them coming in a number of shapes, he guesses. And here, everything operates on a different set of rules.
This is the first other Fae he's encountered, though, as far as he knows. He's almost a little afraid to ask anything, lest his dread of the future get... worse...]
How long did it take you to get that idea?

[ She doesn't need to hear his voice to know he must be annoyed by that. The text pretty much shouts his mood anyway. ]
I bet if you checked with osme of the fashion designers, you'd find someone interested! They're always looking for such things to design the costumes and outfits so much in demand in this place. Whether for the frequent festivals the city has, or just for keeping up with the unique demands of clothing required for all the monster forms, the tailors and designers in this city always seem very busy!
no subject
[Petty complaints are a very Fae thing to do, don't you know. It's helping? Maybe?]
I was kind of joking, but now I wonder if I can actually produce enough to be worth it. It did come out more like thread than fiber. [Why is he considering giving it a try now, oh no. He sighs to himself.]
I guess I'm going to need special clothes, too. I might as well ask around.
no subject
[ She has no idea how much he actually... made. And isn't sure she wants to ask. ]
But there are several people here who make clothes to accommodate monsters and their... additions? Fae, included, actually! I can let you know where some of the ones I found were?
[ She may not have a need for monster fashion, but she'd helped a few of the designers showcase their wares previously. ]
no subject
[Just think of like if you were drooling in your sleep, except the drool was silk.]
That would be helpful. I don't know how fast I'll actually get anything that needs it, but it's better to be prepared.

the silkbugs ?
[worms...it's silkworms, honey.]
no subject
[He hopes the only breathing difficulties he might have would be from like, panic attacks. ... He hopes he won't have any breathing difficulties at all, but he has to be realistic.]
Silkworms are the caterpillars of silk moths, but most moths make their cocoons out of silk. I understand the confusion, though. It's not exactly something I looked into before.

What is a google or wikipedia?
no subject
Is that common? Things from monsters holding magic more easily?
[Having bonded to a half-orc from a fantasy world, Ferran decides to assume little to no knowledge of computers and explains appropriately. Or as best he can, anyway.]
They're research tools, basically. Ways to find specific information without needing to go to a library or get a particular book, using a system kind of like this network. It's a little more complicated than that, but... that's what I wanted them for.
no subject
Ah. Such a research tool would be invaluable. I'm afraid I've spent many long hours in the libraries here already without so much guidance, myself.
no subject
[you did more than hear about it, ferran.]
It really does cut down on a lot of time. For the most part, you just had to type in your question or a topic and it would do the equivalent of bringing you a book and opening it to the right page. I'll have to get used to doing things the old-fashioned way...
Are the library workers too busy to help?
