Did you know some moths produce silk from their salivary glands? Because I didn't until after I spat out a bunch of string this morning.

[He didn't make that connection immediately, mind you; after the initial utter bafflement, he took the time to go do more research on Fae and the insects they resemble. Nerd.]

Someone let me know if there's a market for organic fae silk. And if you could invent some kind of google or wikipedia while you're at it, that would be appreciated.

[He's got some conflicted feelings over asking Tsutha for help—sure, they both signed up to lean on the other, in a way, but it kind of feels like his ordeal is the more... difficult one. He doesn't like the idea of taking more than he can give.

Just letting me complain is enough, really. Nothing hurts or anything, so it's just a matter of... getting used to it, for now.

[ If their situations were reversed, Tsutha would feel the same. She doesn't like burdening other people. But she doesn't like watching other people burden themselves, either. They may have paired up pretty much at random, but Tsutha cares about Ferran now, and doesn't want him to be hurt all by himself. ]

Then consider me open for complaining whenever and wherever, about whatever! Not just monster-y stuff, but if somebody shoves you on the sidewalk or something, I'll listen to you rant about what an asshole they were!

It's entirely possible there might be, although I would proceed with caution if you plan to look into it in earnest. I think there are some people who consider various monster parts to be extremely valuable.

[A mantis... isn't the first thing he'd consider when thinking of a fairy, but the old folklore has them coming in a number of shapes, he guesses. And here, everything operates on a different set of rules.

I bet if you checked with osme of the fashion designers, you'd find someone interested! They're always looking for such things to design the costumes and outfits so much in demand in this place. Whether for the frequent festivals the city has, or just for keeping up with the unique demands of clothing required for all the monster forms, the tailors and designers in this city always seem very busy!

Silkworms are the caterpillars of silk moths, but most moths make their cocoons out of silk. I understand the confusion, though. It's not exactly something I looked into before.

Perhaps it would be worth asking some of the local witches. Fae are somewhat rarer, and I would not be surprised if such a silk would be simpler to enchant, or have other properties besides.

They're research tools, basically. Ways to find specific information without needing to go to a library or get a particular book, using a system kind of like this network. It's a little more complicated than that, but... that's what I wanted them for.

I am unfortunately not a 'witch' here, but certainly Arachne silk makes fabrics stronger, and dragon scales are prized by the magical community. [and Naga produce lethal venom but let's not mention that part.] If for no other reason, I am sure rarity alone would be worth something.

Ah. Such a research tool would be invaluable. I'm afraid I've spent many long hours in the libraries here already without so much guidance, myself.

I see. I'd heard fairy dust was somewhat valuable, too, but I hadn't thought about why.

It really does cut down on a lot of time. For the most part, you just had to type in your question or a topic and it would do the equivalent of bringing you a book and opening it to the right page. I'll have to get used to doing things the old-fashioned way...
