Good evening,

I was wondering - what are the consequences of going without a bond for too long? Does it vary from monster to monster? And... what about those who have gone feral before, even with a bond?

Those among us that call themselves monsters, beasts...

[ There's a low chuckle sound, but there's no humor in it. It seems more like a vocal tick, than anything else. ]

The Moons speak to them, and drive them to madness. To become drunk on the sweet moonlight, and seek out the blood of men.

( She's already gone feral a couple of times. She doesn't want to hurt anyone innocent - not again. )

[ "Stop" was a vague term, but... almost deliberately so. They both knew what she meant, in the end. She felt like she could assume that much. ]

When others have tried to stop me, it's been next to impossible for them to do it. When you're like that-- it's difficult to listen to reason.

Because they are using reason... When the Moons have taken you, human "reason" no longer matters.

When someone succumbs to the drunken song, they are beyond mere words or reason...

I'm sorry. It sounds like you have experience with this.

[ There's a long pause... followed by a sigh, and her tone becoming that much more somber. ]

Aye... This, too, is Hunter's work.

I'm not so sure. Sometimes, even when we completely lose ourselves - there's still a part of us that wants to be saved - that still wants to fight.

It is a luxury, to indulge the possibility of that. One we Hunters never are graced with.

If it comes between indulging that part, whether it exists or not, and protecting others, it is not really a choice.

Protecting others...

Still, there's always another way. The one's who have changed - they aren't evil. That isn't a fate that they should be forced to meet.

Like I said, "another way" is a luxury. It is ill afforded when the moment eventually comes.

I wouldn't wish either fate on anyone.

i would rather perish with qing. i can't imagine a worse torture than living without the hope of ever seeing it again.

... I understand. Being away from those important to us - it can be one of the most difficult things we face.

I had only just had a chance to see my home again before arriving in this world. Even now, I haven't given up trying to find a way back.
