For those that might be interested, I have through considerable effort figured out how to tweak these devices into allowing the display of color video and images beyond sepia.

Which I would demonstrate, save that this is a physical change to the device and requires me to put in several very small items to function. Thus if you have interest in seeing each other in color, I can be found at the Second Time's The Charm shop, which sells these communicators, for the next several days. Make an appointment. As I am generous, I will not charge for my considerable time and efforts in this, though I will not refuse donations. You will have to turn your device over to me for a bell or so, there's no way around it. If you refuse, you may purchase another, I can update that one, and you may turn in your old one for recycling.

Technically I can't refuse anyone who asks for my aid. But if you are rude, violent, or otherwise not on good behavior something unpleasant may happen to your device while my talons are in its guts. Try to at least feign civility.




[OOC: The first watch update is here, IN LIVING COLOR. Lahabrea absolutely must get his hands on a watch in order to upgrade it. While this interaction can be handwaved!! you may also come visit Lahabrea and have it done in person for delicious CR! He won't refuse anyone, and he'll take into account rude people at least making an effort at being polite. Upgrades are freeeee! Make an appointment (in this thread or inboxes or etc I don't mind~) and come get your color upgrade!

Although he didn't mention it in this notice, he's willing to teach others how to do this as well, so other people can do upgrades! If you're interested, find an excuse to ask him! I welcome any and all assistance; the more hands I get the faster I can do future upgrades too!]

Which is to say that it really doesn't take a Puca like Mettaton long at all to speed across the city, from the Haven to the business in question—known for speed as they are. Still harried by obstacles, sure, but Mettaton leaps his way over a lot of them. He has no ankles to twist and no body to exhaust. And he has a goal, and that goal is Video, But In MTT-HD-Full-Color.]

Lacking a more agreeable stress-tester, he will do. I am certain your bond will find ways to put my improvements under pressure that I haven't even begun to consider. And if they can hold up to his rigorous efforts, then they are suitable for anyone else.

As of this very moment few seem interested in taking up with said improvements, so by your leisure, stop in and I'll see about making the both of you two of a kind. It is if nothing else something to do; I can't claim sudden altruism for the unwashed masses so much as searching for ways to keep from tearing my own eyes out for lack of otherwise occupying things.

Yes, it would require the same internal rebuild. Unfortunately the baseline device simply doesn't come with the things needed to receive or send any color but sepia.

It can certainly be arranged. Make an appointment and come in. I don't know why someone didn't bother to try to tweak these sooner, as I understand it I'm a bit of a late-comer.

i'm interested in arranging an appointment! one question though! have you noticed a significant difference in the size of the photos taken? not like i ever got to run out of space on this device, but that could be a possibility to consider

I was able to take a few hundred without difficulty in my testing phases, but anything further may require additional upgrades of storage space, or some form of external device to put them in. It's possible space would become an issue sooner or later.

Are you witch or beastfolk? If the latter, are you nocturnal? I have openings this evening.
