Name: Konoe
Date: now-ish
Format: voice
[Typing is terrible for someone not used to it (and someone not even that great at writing, at that): one attempt has been enough to convince Konoe never to try again if he can help it.
Video, however... is honestly creepy!? How do people get so small, and how can they be sure they'll get out of the watch again? He may be a cat, but he's not stupid!
So he tries for voice, even though he's not used to voice calls, either. He gets really close to the watch and pronounces everything a little slowly, overly clearly.]
Before - you - came - here, - were - there - demons - with - you?
If - not, - were - you - in - great - danger - some - other - way?
And - were - you - cursed - at - some - point?
[There, he did it. There's an audible sigh, of determination as much as relief, and then the feed ends.
Look, he's just trying to get some answers, here. There must be some pattern to who was pulled here through the mirrors and why!]

voice;
[Well. Actually. Yes. Certain members of his family have the zodiac curse, but Kyo has it the worst of all of them in being the Cat. He just isn't necessarily ready to go spouting off about that yet.]
no subject
I was cursed. Though I think it got lifted just before I came here.
[He's still not sure if and how that happened, let alone why. But there may be a connection, right?]
no subject
[That....sounds like his situation. But he isn't sure if it is related to him being so separated from the other Sohma, from Akito specifically. And his situation was probably quite different to Konoe's.]
no subject
But I don't know for sure... when the journey here started.
[That's what happens when you're taken from some kind of... demon dimension? Let's call it that.]
no subject
[He's. Still weirded out by the demon talk. Animals he gets, and 'monsters' to some extent at least were a thing from stories or horror films or whatever. Even....well, some even called Kyo himself one back home, but still.]
no subject
[It's kind of a complicated story, but he doesn't mind trying to tell it. He's been fairly open about his curse so far, and nobody has freaked out...]
My ears and tail had turned black due to the curse, and I had markings on my arms and legs. Just before coming here, everything had definitely turned back to normal.
But where I was at the time wasn't a normal place. For all I know, it may have been halfway here already.
[And therefore he's not entirely sure if he wasn't already on his way when the curse lifted. That almost seems to make more sense than presuming he got taken here right after the curse got lifted.
Then again, maybe this world didn't want him while he was cursed?]
no subject
[That wouldn't match up. At least for Kyo. He'd just been back home. So he doesn't have anything like that to compare, unfortunately. And it was once he was here that he noticed the Curse had seemingly lifted. He's not sure if it might be because he is here now, because Tohru had discovered that about him, about his True Form or what it might be in his case.]
no subject
[Konoe kept getting forcefully invited to these demon parties. He was so done with them.]
no subject
[At least with the assumption that demons were evil or whatever, right? At least, Kyo figures.]
no subject
[Some people probably dream about that kind of torture, but not Konoe.]
But that's why... I'm not sure where I was when the curse was lifted.
[He wasn't here, yet; he wasn't strictly in his own world anymore, either.
The more he thinks about this kind of stuff, the more questions come up - and the fewer answers he feels he has.]
no subject
[Like it had with the zodiac curse. Not that Kyo is specifying that, but others might also have noticed changes a bit. Maybe. It's harder to tell on his end given, curse aside, he is a regular human.]
no subject
[Not upon arrival; it definitely happened before then. But that makes sense, doesn't it? Arrival was just exiting the mirrors: the process of being brought in through the mirrors was where the magic must have happened.]
... I don't really expect to find answers. But not even trying to figure out what happened to us all doesn't feel right.
no subject
[Curse and Hanajima's wave thing aside, his version of Japan was pretty normal otherwise. So yeah, Kyo isn't sure how much help he might be with this sort of thing.]
no subject
[It definitely wasn't like that back home. Magic existed, sure, and not a single cat would have ever denied that, but it wasn't something that was all around and accessible to almost everybody.]
no subject
[Or so Kyo figures at least. Which could be said about anything, anywhere. The longer one is in a place the more they will learn about it and the people.]
no subject
[Maybe in part it's just a way to keep busy and not think about things too much, a plan to stick to when he can't begin to imagine what else to do. It's a crazy new world they've landed in, and Konoe is still not done processing everything that happened in his own world.]
no subject
[If that might be the key to getting home somehow? That might be incentive.]
no subject
[That's an understatement. There are no schools in his world - not anymore - and Konoe is from a small town, at that. He can just barely read and write. That's the extent of his "studying".
Still, no time like the present to change that. Compared to everything else that has changed, something like this is no big deal.]
If the classes don't work, they don't work. We can always stop going. But we can at least give them a shot.
no subject
[He's anticipating more the chance of finding out he is one of the monsters. Kyo is basically resigned to it and the fact that chances were he wouldn't win his deal with Akito about him defeating Yuki. Why would this be any different?]
no subject
[Konoe doesn't know how much to expect, himself, but... he's extremely determined to try. This is what he's decided to focus on in order to keep moving on and not linger on the past.
If it doesn't work, he'll just have to find something else. At least he'll have won some time.]
no subject
[It'd be weird? To have others not hate him for something out of his control like that and all. After spending his whole life defined so much by being the Cat.]
no subject
[Excuse him for focusing on THAT VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL.]
no subject
[So, treated like one. He...isn't going to admit to that being literal with his True Form yet.]
no subject
[There's a lot he could say about that kind of thing, and part of him wants to - but he also knows that he's anything but an expert, so whatever he claims to know just amounts to butting in, really.
In the end, he decides that not butting into Kyo's private affairs is more important than the arguably selfish need to offer support.]
Not much we can do but wait and see.
Regardless... I think being a monster here isn't so bad.
no subject
[Even Kyo can note that much, for all that some are seemingly better off because of their Bonds with the Witches, or so he assumes. The rest seem to remind him a little too painfully of his own situation back home. Of being the Cat of the zodiac.]
