I honestly haven't been using this blasted watch as much as perhaps I should have. It just never seemed important.

But I have received some advice from someone and I suppose I am now putting it into practice, despite my trepidation.

My bonded left or vanished early last month. Or the month before; I can't quite remember. I managed the last full moon well enough, but I know from experience that it's just going to get worse or at least more difficult. And more to the point, I'm feeling horrendously lonely as of late.

So I'm looking for friends and companions, I suppose, with the potential to eventually form a bond. Not the most romantic thing I've ever done, but this place isn't all that romantic to begin with, is it?

Still not used to this whole "mortal" thing, though.

I believe I've heard of it; I'd be happy to meet you there.

Anytime in the afternoon would suit me perfectly. Say three o'clock?

That should be fine, if you wouldn't mind sitting indoors. Sunlight doesn't agree with me.

Not at all; although I'm happy to postpone 'til evening, if that would suit you better.

It would find me in better spirits. My thanks, that's considerate of you.

Very well! I'll look forward to seeing you this evening.

[ That evening, as the sun settles below the horizon, Iramaat finds herself at DiplomaTea, having obtained herself a cozy little booth. She's a bit early, perhaps, but she prefers being punctual. She's sipping at a glass of water as she waits, humming tunelessly and keeping an eye out the window.

Honestly, she's never met this person, so who knows if she'll even recognize them. ]

[He walks in not long after she arrives, and catches the attention of someone behind the counter. There's a brief conversation, then Iramaat is pointed out to him and he turns with a small, expectant smile.]

I do apologise, I should have supplied a description. [Red Wine tells her as he takes a seat.]

The technology is still novel.

Oh, yes, I suppose I should have as well-!

[ Iramaat half-rises and offers him her hand as he settles in. ]

Pleasure to meet you in person.

[judgementor]

[He stands immediately when she offers her hand, taking it gently and bowing his head.]

The pleasure is certainly mine. I've been lacking of a person of similar mind during my stay so far.

[ She nods and half-bows in reply before she sits. ]

Yes... not many people who enjoy chess... or philosophy... or fencing, honestly. But, tell me, what particular interest would you like to explore? A mutual love of tea, perhaps?

[judgementor]

[He smiles and takes his seat again, then laughs with a visible show of sharp canines when she speaks.]

That sounds like a fine place to start. Do you have a preference in flavour?

[wylderrant]

Oh, I tend to prefer blacks, with a hint of floral... does that suit you?

[ She's not sure of his tastes, after all. ]

[judgementor]

That suits me very well.

[Tea, like a good wine, needs to be savoured and enjoyed... and if you don't seek to expand your horizons with it, you're missing out on one of the finer things in life.]

I find overly strong flavours unpleasant, ordinarily.

[wylderrant]

Perfect.

[ She waves down a server to order a pot. ]

I'm pleased that I won't be chasing you away with my own tastes, then.

[judgementor]

You'd have to try a little harder than that.

[He shoots her a small, though charming smile.]

You're not thinking of chasing me off already? I usually make better first impressions.

[wylderrant]

Oh, hardly. As you said, we only just met!

[ She settles her chin in her hands and gives him her best winning smile. ]

Tell me a little about you. Your proper name, how long you've been here. All that sort of thing.

[judgementor]

Hm, about me?

[Fair enough. He rests his arms against the table.]

My name is Red Wine. I've been here for... hm, it must be almost six months. The place has done very little to win me over yet.

[wylderrant]

Red Wine. Interesting name...

[ She laughs. ]

I'm Iramaat and I've been here for... a little longer, I think. Ten months? And yes. It's... certainly a chore to adjust to. It's been a bit dreadful at times.

[judgementor]

You're not the first to say so.

[On Tierra, all his name does is mark him out as a Food Soul. Here... it's gained more than a few raised eyebrows.]

'Dreadful' is an apt word to use, though I don't believe I have a word in any language I know that accurately describes my feelings towards being here.

To be fair, I'm the only Iramaat I know, so I know all about unusual names...

[ She shrugs. ]

And yes... it's different and strange and even if it's pleasant at times I'm also just frustrated with it in so many ways. I don't really know what else to say about it. I feel like as soon as I get used to the place it throws something else at me.
