Ohh yes!! Hello darlings... My. So many of you, to bear audience to my post. Something's been on my mind for a few weeks now. And with so many questions on the network this month, why not conduct a survey of my own?

QUESTION: How many digits do you have on your hand? Fingers, thumbs, claws, fins, amorphous appendages. You name it, you count it! In as much detail as you'd like!!

Every reply will receive feedback on the configuration of your hand... by none other than ME!! Some lucky responses may receive any extra commentary that comes to my dazzling mind! Will you be one of the bold and the lucky...?

No, it would be too much because the book might be in delicate condition and an excess of fingers could possibly endanger it to destruction. It is a very careful process and one wrong move could destroy not only a masterpiece but a collection of knowledge may be lost to the winds if I were not careful. I can live with the pain of a digit but it would be hard for me to live if I knew that somehow, someone's history, an entire civilization's legacy would be lost if ruined.

And a human with six fingers wouldn't be suited to the task of bookbinding? I don't know if I believe that, darling. I think that even if you had six, you could still make it work. Who knows? You might even find that extra finger's useful in the process, not disastrous!

The same goes for four, obviously. Though it seems you have no objection to that. You can't be blamed for finding four to be agreeable. It's a nice number of digits.

It's all hypothetical, gorgeous. You have five, and that's that. And... you're comfortable with five, I assume.

I was only asking to begin with because I noticed that so many people close to me had five. I thought it was an odd coincidence. But it turns out they're in good company... Because so many of you have five, after all.

I'm fascinated that yet another of my friends also has five fingers. What are the chances? But then, there are so many of you with five fingers. What a mystery...

I lived among monsters, darling. Some of us didn't even have hands!! You could find claws, paws, talons, hands, wings, amorphous appendages... Anything could be common! Fingers in any quantity.
