Hi everyone! I'm Elliot, it's nice to meet you all even if this isn't where you wanna be right now. Sorry about that. I teach music and I'm a healer with Coven infirmary training. So if you need either of those things, just lemme know!
Anyway, um, I had a question. What's music like where you're from? Or what kind of music do you like? There's so many people from different places, I feel like I'm always finding out something new and I'd like to learn as much as I can.
Oh- I'll start. I'm from Erebonia and we have a lot of classical music - stuff with lutes, violins, piano, etc. Operas are pretty popular too, though in the last few years Northern rock - or I guess just rock, has been spreading! Oh, and radio's really big. I still miss listening to my favorite radio show honestly...
S-Sorry, didn't mean to ramble. What about you guys?

Thanks Fie, that's insightful.
[-- But now that you're here]
Did you know you can make music on computers? I just found that out!
un: ma - text
I like the fast music. From the festivals.
[Helpful description.]

Do you dance Mikasa?
no subject
Is that what it's called? [What a creative name.]
no subject
You didn't know? [HIS HEART ACHES.]
Yeah, when you move along with music, it's called dancing.

Lots of idols, but I haven't listened to a lot of them. That's probably classified as pop.

And what's the difference between rock and pop in japan?
no subject
Rock is more... hard rock? Lots of heavy guitars, drums and base. I think pop has more emphasis on the melody and vocalists.
no subject
[That makes sense!]
That's really interesting. I'd love to hear good examples of differences between the two. Too bad music players from other worlds are in short supply.
[He could ask Yosuke if he had stuff in his mp3 player, but maybe don't bother the guy who just got mauled]

And I'm always up to meet another violin player. I know of Amadeus, Momiji, and Wataru. Is there another?
no subject
But ah-- Wataru is the one I know, so I guess I can't really help there after all.

Oh, someone told you about me already, that was nice of them! [His voice is upbeat and cheery, though also a little cutesy-sounding.] I've been an idol with my partner for the last five years, and though he's been in the business longer than I have, I'm sure I can answer any questions you have about it! Or send you some samples.
[He does actually keep music on his phone and has most of his duo's songs, he'll figure out some way to send it if necessary.]
no subject
Oh hello Momo! It's nice to meet you! And thank you for the offer, I am pretty curious. So I guess first off- how is being an idol different from being a normal musician?
And I'd love to hear some samples, if you can!
no subject
I'd say the difference is just as much in the work itself as the marketing. Idols gather fame for their personality and looks just as much as what we do - the "whole person", I guess, not just the music we make. So while music is still the bulk of what we do, we'll also do acting, advertising, radio, talk shows...basically anything we can offer to our fans. Reaching dreams is really hard for anyone to do, so our job is basically to embody a dream anyone can feel like they're a part of. And then reaching their own dreams becomes a little easier from there, you know? When they have something supporting them like that.
[He's ready to field the inevitable questions out of that framing of it, because he's had multiple people here tell him his job is screwed up already and he's trying to be a bit more cautious in how he puts it. It's hard to pretty up some aspects of idoling when it's a fairly controlling job, but he feels it's an acceptable trade-off.]

Music in my world seems similar to yours, with a few exceptions. We don't have anything like radio on Tellius, for one. I couldn't tell you what sort of music I like. I don't think I've developed any particular taste for it one way or another.
I"m so sorry this tag got lost in my inbox
No radios yet huh? Well they were pretty recent in my world, so I can't say I'm surprised. But really? What about an instrument? Is there one you like the sound of?
Don't worry, it happens!
Hmm... I don't know. Even submitting more thought to it, I can't mark a single preference. A drum sounds like a drum. A flute sounds like a flute. I think what matters more is what is done with them than what they are.
