un:ma voice
Name: Mikasa Ackerman
Date: Early July, like somewhere between 7th-10th
Format: Voice
[Some people might recognise the voice, some might even remember her making enquires about monsters and recommendations for good books in the library. Or not, it'd been slow progress for the fae. Because she'd found that...books were so, so dry. They made her want to sleep. So she'd been surprised to find a book that she could get through. It's information though-]
Is it true that really powerful vampires have diamond-like skin that reflects sunlight back instead of being burnt by it?

He just let Jean poke at him. Shoving at the hand. He really was just a walking fluffball. Completely oblivious to Jean's comments.
After Jean's 'correction' Mikasa just nods. Rolling her shoulders and moving away from the peas and other produce, though those and the birdfruit were the only ones that had shown violent tendencies. The movement gets the pup's attention and sorry Jean, but he is hauling his ass over to flop onto the far's boot. That is where his allegiance lies.]
How do you want to do this? [Looking at the shell on her back. The height difference would definitely make it easier than awkwardly crouching for a tiny child to press a cloth against it. But did he want to sit or keep standing.]
no subject
Uh. Inside ...? [ Nobody's actually around in their area, but he still feels like if Mikasa's exposing her back, this should happen indoors rather than out here in the garden. ]
no subject
...Except she wasn't going to die. There was no chance of that. She could feel the wing growths. She just shrugs though, moving inside. Tater at her heels- Oh, he can't get up the step. She's just going to crouch for a moment, putting her hands out to give him a little boost. But then she's inside.
Grabbing a kitchen chair, face set in her strongest poker face as she sits sideways on it. So the back didn't get in the way.
But even with that. She just sits for a moment. Not moving to move the shirt.
They're very good at this.]
no subject
I won't try to look, but you should drape this over your chest anyway. [ To protect her modesty and also because it's cold. It's funny how finding this privacy hadn't seemed to cross her mind at all. ] Then you can ... take off your shirt whenever you're ready. If you still want me to have a look, I mean.
no subject
Right, it's fine. It's just...It's a strange thing to have to ask. ['yo dude look at my back to see my wings'
But she sighs, undoing buttons. Her chest wasn't exactly what she'd been nervous about. Not entirely. The blanket wouldn't exactly help but she takes it, putting it on her lap for the time being. Taking the shirt off. Just gonna hang that on the chair, then hug the blanket up under her chin.]
Ready...
[Please ignore the lack of enthusiasm. Because what he'd find on her back was a slightly protruding lump of white chitin with some pinkish streaks between her shoulder blades. No actual wings yet, they were too delicate in their growing state to not have a thick casing to protect them. Though the very bottom of the exoskeleton did have a small patch of green, almost like a leaf bud.
Honestly. Most of this was like a routine check-up or just training in her sports bra and shorts...Something Jean had yelled at Eren about before.
The only reason she was nervous was...Well, she wasn't wearing a sports bra.
Not that it was anything risque by anywhere's standards.
It was just a bra with a cute little mint-green gingham pattern.
Her pointed ears were still turning red about being caught in her cutesy undies and not her normal plain ones. She was just used to plain, practical clothes from home, it was a silly novelty no one was supposed to know about...But here they were.]
no subject
But why is that bra so cute? Is that the sort of thing she's wearing under her clothing all the time? It's best that he doesn't think these things. ]
It's green. [ A pause, and he panics. ] The bottom of the casing, I mean ...
no subject
The comment makes the top of her neck redden before the skin disappeared into chitin. Then she shifts, nodding.]
...Anything else? I'm moving them now...[She could feel them, small little things weakly moving. But they were completely covered.] They feel wet...
no subject
I can't really see them move. Your exoskeleton's covering them ... [ He's not really sure his descriptions are helping her see very well. ] I've learned how to take watch pictures. Do you ... want me to?
no subject
That explains why it feels wet... [When she'd broken a piece there had been a mixture of blood and something watery. She wasn't sure what though, other than she'd been told not to worry about it. It takes her a moment to answer about the picture though.] Yes. It'd be good to know what it all looks like...Thank you.
[THERE's NO WAY THIS COULD GO WRONG.]
no subject
Taking out his watch, he snaps a picture of her back. It's slightly out of focus because he's really not good at this, but the exoskeleton around where her wings are should be visible enough.
Stepping in front of her, he shows her the photograph that he's taken. ] Here's what it looks like.
no subject
So much for living how she wanted...Yet here she was worrying about it.
The blanket slips a little when she reaches out for the watch. Giving a small hum. Please ignore the small scab just above her boob. She was stabbed.]
...It looks the same as before. Just there's more of it. [She sighs, the only way to know more would be to break it. And she wasn't doing that again. Now for more awkward silence.
...] I wonder how long it's going to take for this to end. It's itchy again.
who is going around stabbing boobs
Did you get into a fight? That wound looks new. [ Before they continue that conversation about her wings, he feels the need to address this. ]
I'm glad at least one character other than the boob stabber learnt of it
Mikasa slumps, huddling more in the blanket.] No... [How did she word this? That the person who'd gotten through training with nary a scratch had sustained a booboo on the boob. In the dumbest way possible. She sighs and, wait for it Jean...]
I picked up a small animal so he didn't get stepped on because it was busy... [Nope, not looking.] But he was a shapeshifter...
[Now he too, is aware of the perils of small cute animals actually being people. Then she slumps a little more, that blanket was looking pretty big on her frame with her curling up on herself.] At least he didn't pretend to be an animal so I'd feed him like some of the others...
[Life is hard when you are filled with an instinct to take and defend the small, cute and childlike.]
no subject
[ A quick glance at Tater -- No, so far, Tater seems way too happy and dopey to secretly be a conniving person out for some free food and affection. ]
But why did he stab you? A simple "please put me down" would have sufficed.
no subject
He currently had an audience of two, watching him tuck himself into a ball to lick his butt. Something that makes Mikasa snort and look away again, lips quirking into a small smile. Nah, he was safe, even if that guy had doubts.
Jean though, Tater notices his glance and attention? For him? How nice he's wagging his little tail so hard as he waddles over, tongue still poking out. Hello, yes? He's here. ]
He did... But he grabbed my antenna. [said appendage give a twitch.] so I held him tighter... [It had been on reflex. This creature's movements were causing her pain, the easiest solution? Stop it from moving. It'd gone horribly for all involved. ]
no subject
So, uh ... with your strength -- [ He can see how horribly this must have gone now, Mikasa squeezing the life out of a small animal. It's still no excuse to stab her, but he can sort of understanding how that can be viewed as a threat. ]
no subject
Mikasa, she only nods. Letting out a small sigh, not looking at him. Gonna huddle up some more and...mope. Yes, she was moping. ] He tried to shove me...but claws...
[Claws to the boobie, tragic...]
no subject
That's gotta hurt ... [ A grimace. He's at least happy to hear that it was just an accident and there's no need for him to be worried about anyone trying to harm Mikasa. ]
I've been trying to learn healing, and I'm getting better. You should ring me up when you get in those situations again.
no subject
Healing is a good thing to learn. [She'd mentioned that before, a perk of being a witch instead of a monster. ] I didn't think they'd have you treating cuts so soon... [But she sighs, antenna giving a flick.]
Theres nothing to heal on my back. Is there? [soft and resigned. No injuries, just aching, growing limbs. ]
no subject
I can do the small cuts, but I'd probably need more practice to close up a wound like that. [ He could try, but he doesn't want to use Mikasa as a guinea pig. Magic can go so wrong when the user is inexperienced. ]
Your back's fine. Is it painful?
no subject
But she wasn't going to mention that. That was her own problem, one she'd clutch close to her chest instead of bothering Jean about it.]
No, it itches. But nothing can be done about that. I was given some ointment from the Coven but it doesn't work through the shell...
Thanks for checking it. Trucy worried the last time I asked her.
[It was nice having someone who wouldn't freak out at a little blood around.]
