Warnings: Mentions of sex & pregnancy, b/c I know that makes some people Uncomfy.
So it's pretty obvious that being here changes people in ways that can sometimes be hard to expect, what with all the magic and monstrous traits but does anyone know if there are impacts on other biological functions?
Like...
Well.
[God, how do they say this without giving up the ghost entirely. They can't just come out and SAY things. They would rather die.]
Does being undead impact what vampires are capable of? Do the animalistic traits of most other monsters impact other physical aspects besides what's visible? Turning into a monster is basically like going through some bizarro puberty so, like. What's up with that?
Basically I'm asking if monsters can get pregnant or do they become infertile like some of the hybrids that exist in real life - obviously native ones aren't but does being something else before change that?
[Now it's time to go hide in shame and embarrassment and try not to think about the turn their life has taken.]

[oh lord here we go]

Accidental pregnancies?
[do they...just call them something else on myddvai...or has myr stumbled into the Weird Zone once more]
no subject
That could not possibly occur, that would be horrifying.
no subject
Oh
We need to talk about this one in person dearheart I think
no subject
I would certainly have a throng of children if so.
[weird flex, but okay]

It's regrettably very possible on Thedas for a woman to become pregnant against her wishes
no subject
No, don't answer that. I don't want to know.
This is a terrible thing to learn about. I want to go back to my blissful ignorance.
[thanks he hates it!!]

Do men also bear children on Myddvai
??
[well at least you've horrified each other now, boys]

Does this not happen other places?

I mean, it’s not great, but it happens. A lot. Like, way too much.

They still don't happen on accident!
[Everett was adopted but almost all Springtide are, they have a weird system like everything else in Myddvai....]

They didn’t sign up for this...]
It seems there’s a major difference in cultures going on here because that’s not how it works at all where I’m from. Folks just get pregnant all the time and sometimes they weren’t planning on it.
no subject
Yes, quite a major difference!
If it puts you at any ease, I have not had an issue with any accidental children.
And clearly I would not know better to have been careful over the last year.

Is this truly not a matter among your people? A great many young Nobles in Fodlan would appreciate if such were true in our homeland!
no subject
Certainly not! Children can only spring from those who wish to have a child. Perhaps not to raise that child together, my people do not as such, but it can't merely happen! Out of random chance? This sounds wildly absurd.
no subject
Any intimate coupling can result in children. For people with certain magics in their blood, such as myself and those decent from other Noble families, this can lead to a certain.. complexity where women in the villages hope to couple with Nobles and bear their children in an attempt to raise their financial and social status.
That is just one example. There are additionally situations where women carry children against their wishes and other such acts that are simply cruel and abusive. This is a ... difficult matter, to put it delicately.
This was also why, in my prior attempts to find a wife when I was younger, I never made such overt moves on a woman without her knowing consent. While I may have shamed myself with how hard I pushed at times, going further was unthinkable. Beyond ruining both of our reputations... bastard children are not taken kindly in the circles of high society.

I'm unsure if this applies to us Mirrorbound or to the natives of this world. I certainly didn't think to fret!
[he will now tho]

[Sorry, Everett. Even when faced with the mortal incarnation of his culture's Goddess, your protege is a simple atheist.]
Once more, your Myddvai is sounding more and more ideal compared to other realms. I find myself jealous that you can lead your life as you do without fear of unnecessary consequences that affect more than just yourself and your actions.

If it worked such a way for us, we'd be the first to know.
[because the fauns be bangin all the time]

the biology
and who would want to have a child??
[stop breaking Hector’s brain pls]
no subject
I supposed it's quite obvious such magic would not transfer through the mirror, now that I think to think upon it
Though not my own, I took care of a child for many years, remember? There was plenty of joy to it, my dear Hector
[in large part because his world isn't horrible all the time always, like most places seem to be]

do you want to have a child?
