Name: Connor
Date: July 1st
Format: Video
[The video focuses on Connor, who is currently condemned to never move from the couch again because he has a St Bernard in his lap. The dog huffs gently as Connor places a hand on his head, and starts to scratch behind his ears.]
I was just wondering if anyone here could teach me a song they know from home. It can be any song, but I promised someone that I would learn one for her. And as I'm not going to be moving any time soon, it seemed to me that now would be the best time. Isn't that right, Sumo?
[He gets absolutely no acknowledgement from the dog.]
Don't worry, I would only have to hear it once. I have a very good memory.
[And maybe people could use a little distraction from whatever that dream was.]

That's good to know. [Both for her own sake and his.] Do you enjoy being a street performer? I could make you attire to match if you'd like. [She's very much enjoying her time sewing and she'd like to make something nice for him though she doesn't know what styles he'd feel the most comfortable in.
She can make him another tie...]
Mm? Only if you want too. I'd hate to be an after thought.
[Justine pauses thoughtfully.]
If you sang me a song, what kind of song would it be?
no subject
[He'd rather play an instrument, though.]
You could never be an afterthought, Justine. What kind of songs do you like? Slow ones? Happy ones?
no subject
I can still make you an outfit. I'll leave finding an instrument to you. [He might look cute with a top hat too.]
Oh? I like many types of songs but I'll only tell you if you first tell me what kind of song you'd want to sing to me. [She's being difficult and playful. Hopefully Connor doesn't mind. With the receding affects of the dream, Justine is bashing in feeling more like herself.]

A love song? Something soft and pretty.
[But that's mostly because he's a romantic and really likes Justine.]
no subject
That's cute. My favorite songs are love songs. I think one goes... "Don't you think the world has had enough of silly love songs?" [The sweet notes of her voice lowers as she continues.] "I look around me and I see that isn't so."
[Justine smiles and almost looks bashfully away.]
That song makes me think of you. I don't know many songs all the way through though. I only know bites and pieces. Whatever I can remember.
no subject
[Maybe he can teach it to her, so she knows another song all the way through.]
no subject
I could check the library for you. [Those kinds of books often have notes in the c-scale which each word which would let him learn them without issue.]
no subject
[He tips his head to the side slightly.]
Did you still want to teach me a song in person?
no subject
[She pauses thoughtfully.]
Would you like to come here or should I come to you?
Harry is working in the basement and I'd hate to bother him.
no subject
[He was about to suggest they test out the pool Hank built in the back yard, but... singing. He shouldn't do that while wet. Maybe after she teaches him the song?]
-> Action
[True to her word, he'll hear a knock at his door a few minutes later and then the soft click as she checks to see if it's unlocked. Justine see's no reason to wait outside when he knows that she's coming over.
Today she's wearing a more traditional dress sold within the city. Lace decorates her breast while thick folds of fabric fall down to her ankles. She's barefoot. Having walked only the length of a house to get here.]

Hello Justine. You look nice today.
[But she always looks nice.]

[Justine lowers to her knees to give the large dog the attention it deserves before stealthily offering him a little treat from the palm of her hand. She then looks up at Connor, rising to her feet with a warm smile.]
Thank you. It's always nice to see you Connor.
Should we get started? I wrote down as much of a song as I could remember for you. [She really doesn't remember a lot of songs.]
no subject
I have a song I learned that I think you'll like, too.
no subject
Really? I'd love to hear it.
[Justine waits for him to sing or to lead her towards the couch.]
no subject
Someone called Lex taught it to me. I thought it was nice.
[And it made him think of Justine.]

Her lips stretch into a warm smile as his voice sweetly wraps around each word. It makes her heart flutter in her chest while the lyrics and notes seep into her and warm her limbs.]
I like it.
I truly love the way your voice sounds Connor. Even if it's pulling me in.
[She glances up at him. Her cheeks lightly touched with a rosy pink warmth.]
It really made you think of me?
no subject
[He touches her cheek, then leans in for a brief kiss. When he pulls back again he's smiling, looking at her fondly.]
So what's the song you have for me?
no subject
Mm? Ah. Did you want me to sing it? I wrote down what I could...
[Her voice is soft and a little distant now that he's sitting so close and kissing her so sweetly.]
no subject
[He says it teasingly, leaning in to kiss at her neck playfully.]
no subject
I think I can manage. Actually, I think there is a song that I know better. It isn't exactly a love song. It's a sad song. But it's beautiful.
[Justine rests against his side, her cheeks flushed as she begins to sing. Her voice is sweet but it's unpracticed at singing and at times awkward as she switches between notes.]
The other song. Well, it's a duet and it had made me think of you but I don't think I could sing it as well.
no subject
That's a pretty song. I'd like to hear the other one too, but I can understand how singing a duet by yourself would be difficult.

[Justine starts singing a collection of songs from a movie that she knows Connor won't recognize. Some of it starts out as talking but slowly the tune begins to form into something more recognizable.
It's an odd song but sweet and as Justine said, she doesn't know all the words but she knows enough to sing it.]
no subject
It made you think of me?
[He toys with her fingers, a smile on his face. The thought is sweet.]
no subject
[It's the theme song that she associates with their date, whenever she has a chance to think back to their romantic walk on the beach. How he has so much hope while her own point of view is depressing and cynical. It's sweet and it makes her believe in something a little bit greater than herself.]
Do you like it? I think it suits us. [Justine is not mentioning how that movie ends.
Her fingers toy with his, a light smile shaping her lips. This is nice and simple and she can't remember the last time she sat with someone like this and just talked.]
