Name: Connor

Format: Video
[The video focuses on Connor, who is currently condemned to never move from the couch again because he has a St Bernard in his lap. The dog huffs gently as Connor places a hand on his head, and starts to scratch behind his ears.]
I was just wondering if anyone here could teach me a song they know from home. It can be any song, but I promised someone that I would learn one for her. And as I'm not going to be moving any time soon, it seemed to me that now would be the best time. Isn't that right, Sumo?
[He gets absolutely no acknowledgement from the dog.]
Don't worry, I would only have to hear it once. I have a very good memory.
[And maybe people could use a little distraction from whatever that dream was.]

I could teach you any song you want to know. My database is instantaneous and infinite.

[So although the SQUIP knows an infinite number of songs, Connor can’t pick one.]
What’s your favourite song?
[He’ll start from there. And just not acknowledge anything he and the SQUIP may or may not have done in Hank’s bed.]
no subject
What kind of music do you like?
no subject
[Which isn't helpful.]
Well, let's pretend for a moment that I'm your user. What song would you pick out for me to listen to here?

And then it begins to sing.
The song it sings is dark, but undoubtedly sexual in nature, an abstract type of seductive that it thinks is fitting.]

voice;
There are a great many I could think of... what kind of song were you interested in, Connor? A tragedy? Or perhaps something more light hearted?
[you don't get to be a celtic knight without knowing some pretty baller drinking songs]

[He remembers his real name, but he also recalls that he'd rather not be called by that.]
I wouldn't want to sing her something too sad. So maybe something more cheerful.

It's a good thing, really, that his last summoning gave him a little chance to learn some slightly more modern ones. One of them's even from the same century as his last Master. Amazing.]
Hmm. The bolder songs are never as melodic. [nice save] My Lagan Love, maybe?

[He'd be happy to hear some of those drinking songs anyway. He's not going to sing them all to Caren, after all.]

[She isn't but that doesn't mean she can't tease him about it. Teasing is a natural response for Justine and as always, it brings a smile to her lips.]
As for songs, I don't know too many off the top of my head. I could maybe sing for you but I'd rather do it in person and I might also not want you to share them. [She's stalling because the only song that she's currently remembering is Elton John which is hardly helpful.] You should also probably be careful singing to people. I'd have for a crowd to show up while you were singing for your girlfriend or me if we're both home. [They live very close together.]

[Look, he really likes shiny coins.]
I'd sing you a song too, if you liked.

That's good to know. [Both for her own sake and his.] Do you enjoy being a street performer? I could make you attire to match if you'd like. [She's very much enjoying her time sewing and she'd like to make something nice for him though she doesn't know what styles he'd feel the most comfortable in.
She can make him another tie...]
Mm? Only if you want too. I'd hate to be an after thought.
[Justine pauses thoughtfully.]
If you sang me a song, what kind of song would it be?
no subject
[He'd rather play an instrument, though.]
You could never be an afterthought, Justine. What kind of songs do you like? Slow ones? Happy ones?

Let me know if you recognize this one.
[He doesn't sing, but he starts whistling the theme from "A Fistful of Dollars".]

[Connor listens- something without lyrics works too. He most often hums rather than outright sings.]
I've never heard it before, but it sounds nice. What is it?

[If Ocelot is giving it such a glowing review, it must be good. Right?]

I know some older songs, from back home. [ And she starts humming, looking a bit wistful. ]

[But all dogs are very good dogs.]
That sounds like a nice song. It's very... relaxing. Does it have words?
no subject
[ She can only imagine that he does, at least. ]
It does. [ Pause. ] Er, do you want me to sing it?
no subject
[Before the sun has had a chance to come up properly. He nods, looking hopeful.]
I'd like you to, yes.

I'd need a piano to play it, though...

[Connor wonders if he could do that. Probably not without lessons first.]
And without knowing any other songs?
[Impressive, but he has to wonder how she knows of no songs other than the one she wrote herself.]

[She's being modest.]
