I was just wondering if anyone here could teach me a song they know from home. It can be any song, but I promised someone that I would learn one for her. And as I'm not going to be moving any time soon, it seemed to me that now would be the best time. Isn't that right, Sumo?

[He gets absolutely no acknowledgement from the dog.]

Don't worry, I would only have to hear it once. I have a very good memory.

[And maybe people could use a little distraction from whatever that dream was.]

That sounds like a nice song. It's very... relaxing. Does it have words?

Very fluffy. Does he get hot?

[ She can only imagine that he does, at least. ]

It does. [ Pause. ] Er, do you want me to sing it?

I think so, but we give him a lot of baths and only walk him in the early morning.

[Before the sun has had a chance to come up properly. He nods, looking hopeful.]

I'd like you to, yes.

That's good. [ She definitely sounds pleased, at least; treating dogs right is important. ]

Well- I can't promise it'll be great, but... [ Lex starts to sing. She's not bad; a bit uncertain, but she's mostly on-key. ]

[Connor agrees that dog care is very important, and he's very meticulous about it. Connor listens to the song, noting her uncertainty but liking the way her voice sounds.]

Your voice isn't bad at all. And that's a very pretty song. It makes me think of someone, which I think was the purpose.

Oh- thank you. [ A flush is crawling over her cheeks, and Lex ducks her head for a moment. She's clearly not good at taking compliments. ]

It's one of my favorites. The radio doesn't have much variety, back home, but... I don't know. That one doesn't get old.

It's certainly one of the better songs I've heard here. I only wish there was some way to play songs properly.

[He wants to hear the music behind the words too.]

That'd be nice. I've heard a few things, but nothing from home. I don't have any recordings of anything of them, either.

Well, if nothing else it's an opportunity to make our own music.

[But realising he hasn't even introduced himself yet, he does so.]

[He doesn't think he's seen her before. He probably would have stopped to talk to her by now if he had.]

Since the first batch of us came through the mirror. I was pretty sick when I showed up, though.

It's been that long for me, too.

[Hard to believe he's been here for two months already.]

Radiation poisoning.

[ ...please tell her you know what that means... ]

...How did you get radiation poisoning?

[He knows, he's just never met someone who has experienced it.]

I was activating a water purifier. It was damaged, so had to be done manually.
