[That's a distinctive nasally tone coming in over the voice channel this fine morning.] Hi. Hey. It's Hiccup. I'm, uh- Hello to the newest arrivals. This is partly to uh- sometimes we don't always, show up with everything we'd like to have, so if you plan to go past the wall and don't have weapons or armor, I run the Forge just outside town with Percy. We're both smiths and we do commission work, so- you know. If you need anything. We also do enchantments! Mostly me.

But-! That's not, really what I'm here for today. [He has more important priorities right now than advertising the Forge.] I thought I'd try asking around, since- Well. I need to find a Bond, or potential Bond, for my friend. Preferably a Monster, but uh, at this point even a Witch would be better than nothing. My friend is- a little irritable sometimes, but he's a really good guy, and he's very talented and smart, and has some pretty neat hobbies. They should be patient and have a sense of humor, and be willing to keep him from working too hard once in a while. To- to be a friend.

So, um. Let me know, and I can set you up to see if things work out! [A pause.] This really is for a friend, by the way, not... not me. [Yeah that's convincing. He manages to tell the truth and still sound like he's being avoidant of the truth somehow.]

He's lost all right to know what I'm doing because he won't listen that he needs to find a Bond eventually, for his own health. [Their friendship is a little strange and off the wall because they're both workaholic smiths who share a forge and also now kind of a pet dragon.]

I'm not spreading his name around or anything. Not until someone who might work out pops up.

But, if it helps them – they have ways to manipulate the situation in their favor. ] Has he grown weaker, as of late? Perhaps your friend more irrational near the full moon?

Building things, really cool things. He knows a lot about stuff I've never even seen before. And he's good with animals! Or, an animal. [A tiny dragon. This friend is good with a tiny dragon.]

Do you have much of a backlog at the moment?

It depends on how much business this advertisement turns into, I guess. I think someone else is wanting a complicated enchantment, plus I still have repair work to finish. [That doesn't mean he won't still be able to manage. He and Percy can help each other out, since work is practically the only thing Hiccup can convince him to do these days.] Something easy I can knock out in between, but if it's something complex...

What were you needing, and did you need it fast?

I've only one at the moment, and have been thinking I should probably expand my horizons a little.

...However, I'm a vampire. Hopefully that doesn't come across as creepy. Since feeding would probably be a requisite... It works best between people who are Bonded, after all.

Don't suppose your friend is intimidated by a little teeth, is he?

[S...quints. Vampires, sure, he doesn't think Percy has a problem with vampires, but going straight into feeding talk has him a little unsure.]

I- I mean, I definitely don't know how he feels about being bitten. [He sounds dubious.] That's- that's a little much, isn't it?

It would, uh. That would be a conversation for... him... in the meeting phase...

It is, but unfortunately, I have to live with it. I didn't sign up for it, either, mind you. Though... yes, I suppose it's a bit shocking to spring right away.

Are there any other qualities in someone he might be looking for? Physical, personality, anything?

You and me both. [It comes out a little dry, practically biting back a sigh of exasperation. Percy will be the death of him.]

Hmm? Well, we're both- you know, independent, the forge isn't really a business like other shops... So I can't speak for Percy, if you want his work, but I can do a payment plan no problem. None of this is really about the money for me.

That would work for me. I just need something simple to get me started. [ a soft sigh ] I can worry about bigger and better things once I have more to offer.

[ Although... he also needs an actual freaking job. Though, literally anything will do in terms of finding a distraction. ]

And you wouldn't... happen to need any help around there, would you? Maybe someone to deliver supplies or clean the place up? Not as a replacement for actually paying, but I'm not really used to sitting around. And... making things was a sort of hobby of mine, back home.
